NHL Lockout Over!
 

Early this morning the NHL and its players reached an agreement, lockout is over. From what I've read the NHL owners blinked, they gave in to the players demands on pretty much everything, under pressure from the NHL's corporate sponsors that another lost season would come at a big price.

I used to really like hockey but with all the drama with it over the past few seasons I've stopped watching it completely.

not sure how i feel about a rushed shortened season...

Hockey can die a slow painful death in my opinion. It's not even a sport that matters to most people outside of Canada.:) I used to be a big fan in the days of the Oilers dynasty, but the game has changed to a slow moving, clutch and grab hockey we see today. Seeing the US junior team this year gave me hope that hockey can be fun to watch again. Watching the Canadian junior team playing their style of game made me realize why I quit watching hockey all together.

true, im happy its back, but im also not happy with a short rushed season, just doesn't sound like a "true" season..really a joke, the true hockey fans are the real losers...

I don't like the shorter season either but one good thing about it is each game has more weight.

Gary Bettman = Worst commissioner in the history of professional sports, or at least since George Mikan was commissioner of the ABA

You are obviously new to hockey. You don't remember John Ziegler who was the worst commisioner (at the time, they called it President) of the NHL

Funny how people bitch about how the hockey, basketball and baseball seasons are too long - i think a 50 game season will be great and the playoffs will be legit.

Maybe so about Ziegler, but Bettman's somewhere in the Inner Circle of the incompetent commissoner's hall of fame.
