What will Google do to my rankings if i redirect shithole countries?

Do they have a problem with this? Will it improve my bounce rate. Will i fuck things up or make things better?

pinkz 01-02-2013 10:43 AM

Use the Browser's User-Agent Language Signature

googlebot sends no U-A language signature.

Matt Cutts is brilliant. One man played a massive role in how people create content online. Google effectively got people to create the type of web they wanted, which best users and their search engine. The guys makes a subtle comment and hordes of retards adopt a new seo rule which is often meaningless and start to spread it as Gospel passed down from God himself.

nico-t 01-02-2013 11:08 AM

fuck matt cutts.

you know what's funny with this new google shit? Time on site etc is important (user finds it interesting & sticks around.)

I've got a site that has been buried in the serps since panda and penguin. Checked the stats for yesterday: Average time on site: EIGHT MINUTES.

Primary keyword position: page 90

LOL GOOGLE LOL

TheSquealer 01-02-2013 11:08 AM

Much of googles continued success can be attributed to that guy and his blog - as well as how easily steared the masses are. What impact does Bing have? Yahoo? Little to none.

I did it to all my servers 3-4 months ago using geoip, did not seem to effect my ranking at all, I block or redirect 8 countries and afterwards it freed up enough resources to go from 8 servers to 6. My ranking are fine and my traffic grows monthly.

Maybe i ask which countries?
Did it improve your bounce rate?

BIGTYMER 01-02-2013 12:48 PM

How would Google even know if I were redirecting Saudi Arabia?

CN HK TW KP KO VN MO MY SG JP UA TR RU

Only a small change in bounce rate and conversions

Huge reduction in hack attempts and resources

Right. Those countries should be blocked from the internet itself, right?

Webmaster Advertising 01-02-2013 12:51 PM

It depends where you are redirecting them.

If you send the shitty web traffic to Yahoo or Bing, I am pretty sure they give you a +1 bump in the SERPs :)

No just porn part of internet since almost all listed countries banned porn by law so that making impossible to expect any kind of purchase from those countries(except maybe penis enlargement pills, you could make a landing page and send such traffic to that site)

Also to answer your thread question, you can redirect mobile traffic, country traffic, specific url traffic,it doesn't matter it wont affect rankings.Of course google officially not allowing that but fact is they cant detect that since google bot always coming from usa ip.

I redirect it to a japan paysite

HomerSimpson 01-04-2013 04:29 AM

if you don't have analytics (or adsense) or the page you're sending the traffic doesn't have analytics (or adsense) too - they can't find out...

Killswitch 01-04-2013 10:18 AM

Be careful when redirecting to not only match based on ip geo data, but also browser language... There's tons of people who are willing to pull out a credit card and are American or any other major country nationality but live in different areas.

For example I got a buddy who's from Australia and is in Japan for work and he gets redirected because of his IP all the time and he says it's annoying when he wants to look at an American site but can't because Japan is blocked.

Why 01-04-2013 10:53 AM

the sad part is how many of you people don't think Google does any type of cloaking when crawling to see if you are screwing with their bots. LOL!!! or that Google only uses bots to check websites.

Pretty sure its common knowledge that google has a fleet of employees checking sites, even the manual they use is available online. Not sure what that has to do with anything in this thread. Personally I could give a shit about google, I no longer depend on google to make money and the sites are mine, I don't build sites for google, I build sites for users.

Out of the 300 active adult sites in my network, not 1 has been blacklisted for country redirecting and they all continue to increase in traffic and make money.

I have had problems with 1 site in the past year, it is a mainstream hotel review site and I was told to remove adwords because 1 of the hotels was a clothing optional resort. It used the word nude in the description and they classified my hotel review site as a porn site lol

With idiots like this hand checking sites, good luck building one that meets a google reviewers criteria
