The whole thing where welfare makes a lot of people avoid getting married so they can get money for the state sucks. In this case, it looks like recognizing lesbian marriage as simply marriage would have been good for the welfare system there, the Craiglist guy, and the courts.

Then the State(s) should go after other parents who relinquish all rights to the children, that are also on assistance. Just because it was I guess done not how the state approves, same outcome, same thing. Most people that are about to make such a huge decision of sucj legal importance as well as both ethically and financially where you could end up paying a significant part of your earnings for 18 years would ask a few questions first.

And by the way, there are plenty of very public cases all the time were a guy came Ito a woman's mouth and she used the sperm to get pregnant or where she saved the condom and used the sperm to get pregnant etc etc etc and the guys ha to pay.
