Hi,
I've been lurking on this board for a couple of weeks. Appreciate the good info and a lot of good laughs. Here's my billing-story : I started my paysite, using Lancelot Security, in March 2002. It was a sparetime project, and I got it up to aprox 2000$/month by september 2002, (growing by 10-15% a month). Then fuck... Lancelot Security filled for bankrupcy ... those freaking motherfuckas scammed me out of +1.000$ :feels-hot Well after a couple of weeks I "got my shit together" and started looking for another processor ... had a bandwith-bill to pay, and the VISA bills from my vacation was starting to do serious damage to my bank-account ;-) I signed up with WebsiteBilling .... that was a huge mistake ! Initially everything was going along ok. A guy from the compagny was assigned to my account, and we startet setting everything up. Then suddenly he didn't respond to my mails. I wrote him a couple off times, and then tried writing the support-team. 2 weeks later I got an e-mail .... They had sacked the dude, but hadn't bother to inform me !! After another 7-8 days I was finally ready to accept payments; (kinda like starting from scratch again .. no rebills, pissed off surfers, etc. ) After 2½ weeks I had had 2 fucking signups ..... and quite a lot of mails from surfers who couldn't signup. I wrote WSB, but they bassicly didn't give a shit. In the middle of october I saw a post on "The Lancelot Security Victims Board" recommending Probilling, (good customer-service and NO VISA FEE :-) I signed up for there program ... and within 3 days everything was ready. Great service from Colin/Probilling during the setup-face. No problems with signups, and my site/takings startet growing again. Then suddenly on the 20 dec. a lot of signups and rebills startet getting rejected, (they had introduced a new fraud-scrupping program). About a week into january things turned to the better, when they got their fraud-scrupping program adjustet, (lost some rebills and possible customers during the christmas holidays ... but hey .... i guess you can expect things like this to occur from time to time !) Buttomline ... I recommend Probilling for the following reasons : - Great customer-service, (they have a webmaster-board, and questions are usually answered within a day) : http://www.probilling.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi - No VISA FEE :glugglug regards Danish Dude |

Probilling was great when they started, I was recommending them to everyone cause they had a 9.5% rate, good customer support and no billing problems.
BUT - since Nov 2002, they: 1) had outages for 24 hours at a time (rumour is they lost their merchant account) and did not notify clients. 2) increased their fees to 13% 3) went through over a month of 95% rejections, most people lost ALL their rebills during that month - when they did this they did not notify their clients until there was about a week of serious bitching on their private board. 4) have ongoing scrubbing issues (their scrubbing rates fluctuate almost weekly, ie, from 5% to 95% rejections). 5) have started billing through really bizarre corporation names like "southern" or "ibv entertainment" which will probably result in lots more chargebacks as users have no idea what this charge was for. and here is the biggie for me: 6) have all of the sudden taken away approval for billing for one of my sites after processing for me for about 1/2 a year, WITHOUT notifying me (not for a good reason either). I almost lost all rebills AGAIN and had to beg them to keep my rebills alive given that I removed them from my sign up pages. Their operations are VERY UNSTABLE. Their scrub algorithms change weekly, their professional opinions change daily. They have a bad habit of rejecting rebills for no reason. And if they feel like it they can decide to no longer process for you without notice. This results in pissed off clients, loss of rebills, loss of good sign ups, loss of good website reputation, and most importantly loss of major $$$. Personally I would not be surprised to see them either permanently lose their visa merchant accounts or go bankrupt soon. You have been warned! Luke |
Thanks guys for your posts, I appreicate you taking the time.

THANK TOO :)

Why not use the "good old ones"??
CCBill and Epoch has been here for a long time, and most likely will! :) |
have been using them for a while as a backup and never had a single problem, I get EFT every single week to mt account
|
They're currently the best for 900 (no extra holds) and checks which are guaranteed. I'd use someone else for CC's though.
