Encirca Domain Registrar?
I am trying to purchase a domain name. The money is currently in escrow but the seller is refusing to give me an auth code trying to force me to sign up at encirca so he can push the domain. I have never heard of encirca and am about to cancel the escrow. The seller changed the whois info to my info and told escrow it has started to be transferred.
Is this a legit company or is the seller trying to pull something? |

I tried to look up info on encirca, but I couldn't really find much besides you can register .pro domains. The domain I am trying to purchase is a .com |
Encirca.com / Encirca, Inc.
Encirca provides domain names and internet services for online computer usage. The company is an ICANN Accredited Registrar. Domain extensions supported include: com, net, org, info, biz, name, us, cn, tw and pro. The company was established in Massachusetts in 2001. The company employs 5 to 10 people. Mr. Thomas Barrett is the Chief Executive Officer of the company. Any questions or problems should be directed to the attention of Mr. Barrett. Well, they have had they're name since 1999; http://www.networksolutions.com/whoi...ch/encirca.com They have been a member of the BBB since 2002 (though not accredited); http://www.bbb.org/boston/business-r...burn-ma-85557/ Not sure what else offhand, I could not find anything bad said anywhere. |
I just found it very odd he refuses to give the auth code. Now he isn't even responding to my emails.

Encirca is legit. He may have just registered the name there or transferred it there within the last 2 months, which would mean it'd still be locked and he wouldn't be able to transfer it to a different registrar. Otherwise there's no reason why it can't be transferred out.
