I'm done with Amerinoc, need new managed host.

When Phatservers was Phatservers, they were amazing. I've been with them for several years now, $150 for a managed dedicated server with unlimited everything was great! But since it became Amerinoc, I've had problem after problem, server crashes and now, I've been trying to get something resolved since the last server crash last week and I've not been able to get support of any kind.

I've submitted tickets, emailed and even tried to call a couple of times to no avail. I can't send or receive emails because every time I open Outlook I have to download the next batch of over 65,000 error emails. I've had about 1 million emails since last week.

Still no help.

I need a new host once and for all.

Who can I get a similar hosting account with for the same money or less that actually has support?

sandman! 12-27-2012 12:31 AM

sounds like your mailbox is fucked up and just needs to be deleted / re added unless your using imap and storing all the emails on the server forever.

its a 2 min fix you can do yourself

24/7 Blogging Crew 12-27-2012 12:34 AM

I don't think the emails the problem

icymelon 12-27-2012 12:42 AM

amerinoc is my #2 the #1 would be mojohost. nothing against amerinoc I have been with them the longest but mojo does have almost perfect support you might want to try them.

Hey Ordo, in a moment you will be flooded with spam of sales staff and clients telling you why their host is best. Or you can hit me up on ICQ or drop me an email with the specs you have in mind, and I will give you a very nice deal on your custom setup at XenLayer.com.

We are a small company and have been in business since 2004, we take the time for our customers. The network is connected via 10-Gigabit Ethernet Wavelength handoff(s) on redundant/dual-path DWDM fiber-optic transport connections to XO Communications, HE and Zayo Bandwidth, Verizon and Frontier Communications. Our VPS and dedicated server plans housed in Scranton are fully managed, we own them as well as our hardware. We have the choice of multiple free and paid control panels and will help you out with every aspect you can imagine.

Whether it's security patches, software upgrades, PHP/Apache module installations or simply tweaking your server to get the most out of your dedicated or virtual machine.

Let me know, I'll give you the best deal I can.

65k error emails? WTF is that for?! Seriously? That's your issue, not your host. Fix your own issues and don't blame it on your host. Just saying.

He receives error messages from his control panel or monitoring daemon, he asked the host to fix the problem or direct the warning messages to /dev/null - I don't think it's such an outrageous request.

I personally called you back yesterday morning (26th) at the number you listed in your email to us and left a detailed message for you when you didn't answer. In my message I gave you the new temporary password I set for you. I also sent it to the gmail account you had on file with us so it didn't go to your primary account that is running through this server so you would be able to log into the client portal and support area to view tickets directly as you stated you no longer knew your password to access these areas. Prior to your ticket today the last ticket on file is from 11/28. I just ran through the call logs and there are no messages from you today nor any calls that I see that match up to your number that is on file which is the same one you listed in your email that I called you back on.

Did you get my message with the new password?
Did you get the new password I emailed to your Gmail account?

Is there another method you would like us to use to contact you that isn't on file?

I feel for your frustration and we want to get this straight for you, but I did reach out to you right after you emailed to the number you listed. As to your frustration with us since we became AmeriNOC, we are still the same people, same owners, top 4 Techs have all been with us since we were Phatservers, we've added more techs since the name change, so I'm sorry if you feel let down somehow, but I don't see any tickets from the last 8 years that are unresolved except the current one.

Please try checking your voicemail or Gmail if you want us to help you with this further.

* Correcting myself if you see this, I do see a couple of other tickets opened up under a different email account attached to your name, they were replied to though. Another option, as a reminder, if the Gmail account you used to use is no longer in use you can always log into your accounts using Webmail as we provide two options for that with the control panel.

If that's the case it's still his problem. Redirect those messages to an email service which can handle such requests...yes, not outrageous, just not fully thought out I guess.

Well, still, with managed hosting you would expect it could be done for you if you don't know how/where to do this yourself. But it looks like it's getting resolved anyway.

I appreciate what your goal is in this thread, but you are wrong here, there's more going on than it being error messages from the CP, monitoring gone haywire or even spam. The errors are DB related having to do with a project he is working on with developers he hired. We have listed the errors previous tickets where tables that don't exist are being called so he could pass them on to the developers to be fixed in their code.

Well, I might expect "experts" not to make assumptions to just show their sig, but it happens all the time here. :winkwink:

Amerinoc has been nothing but a blast for years! Matt, Zac, Chris.. always on top of their game!

The only host you should avoid is xenlayer as they are desperately trying to drum up some biz. Times must be tough Andrew..

DraX 12-27-2012 07:08 AM

I hear ya, it would be interesting to see what the real problem is.

Are you able to receive all emails in a batch or does outlook freeze in the middle ?

I had to stop using outlook because of how it bugs when receiving lots of emails but does not have to have anything to do with this.

Good hosting support is a must, when that fails other things usually fails as well.

Anyway hope you find another good webhost

candyflip 12-27-2012 07:54 AM

Sucks to hear man. Amerinoc have been great to me for a while now.

WalkerTR 12-27-2012 08:03 AM

I'm surprised. Phatservers used to have a great reputation.

Kovachi 12-27-2012 08:58 AM

Cliff notes of this thread:

Ordo hires some shitty Indian programmers to write a script for a future failed project.

The Indians are of course newbies and can't even get basic database calls correct, causing Ordo to get a bunch of error emails.

Ordo contacts Amerinoc a bunch of times to remind them that he has shitty programmers. He then gets a call and an email to an address that he CAN check but doesn't.

Ordo comes on GFY looking for a new host that can handle 70,000 errors emails per day to his Inbox.

AndrewX of XenLayer thinks his services are much better even though he just makes retarded assumptions about other hosting companies.

Ordo fires his shitty Indian developers that actually cause his problems and he goes out of business.

welcome to amerinoc

rastan 12-27-2012 09:35 AM

AmeriNOC have been first rate for me. Can't fault them.

Only the name changed though :1orglaugh

Amerinoc is a grade A+ host!

Ordo 12-27-2012 10:06 AM

XSY,
you may have called last night. I let the phone die and haven't bothered checking it as I've been asking for a call since last week.

I've submitted emails online from your site, 2 support tickets, I've had one of my programmers email you and I've tried to call twice over the past week.

You guys used to be on it. I used to send an email and it was fixed before I got a reply. Now, I don't know what to say. Some lazy new guys?

Maybe once this batch of 65,000 emails processes I'll get whatever email you sent me, which wouldn't really make sense would it? Unless the issues have been fixed and I just need to finish downloading them all. Unless there is a way of deleting these error emails from the server before reaching me?

I'm sorry XSY, but I knew posting here was the only way to get your guys attention at this point. It has been a week afterall.

My advice is NakedHosting :thumbsup
- fully managed servers
- cPanel/WHM available
- free site migration
- real 24/7 support (no outsourced monkeys from india/philipines)
- rock solid network
- they are based in Las Vegas (where all the fun is + no hurricanes)

But if this is true - than even the world's best hosting provider + best possible hardware can't help you out if some web application was built poorly...

They may have an office in Vegas not sure but their servers and infrastructure are definitely in Atlanta, GA. (National Net's data center)

AdultEUhost 12-27-2012 11:30 AM

what specs do you need?

Nookster 12-27-2012 10:44 PM

Amerinoc (aka Phatservers) have been nothing but awesome to me and my customers. I'm a programmer and ex-server admin so I know how/why said server networks should be orchestrated. I have yet to see much downtime within the many years I've hosted with them (I have several VPS and dedicated boxes with them). The worst I've seen so far was three years ago one of my vps' went down for two hours...it was up and churning sales shortly thereafter. (This was before they even became Amerinoc.) Since their business was shifted I haven't seen anything different. Same quality service. Amerinoc is top-notch, I'm sure no one (who actually is their customer) will doubt me. :2 cents:

TurboAngel 12-28-2012 06:44 AM

If you want the best look at NatNet!
