i wouldn't use godaddy even if they were free

You can always use them just to register cheap, and then after 60 days transfer them to your preferred registrar.

They're not THAT bad though, I've used godaddy for my domains for years and have never had a problem.

I would however, NOT recommend them for hosting or the like, but domains, no problem. :2 cents:

As a service, no, they are not bad as a registrar. As a company, they supported SOPA until their users spoke out: http://mashable.com/2011/12/23/break...supports-sopa/

Then they backpedaled. Not really a company that I want to help support. I think they also use sweatshops to manufacture their domains. But that's just what I heard. For all I know, they provide air conditioning.
