Hologram Strippers?
Apparently Bruce Willis will make a hologram appearance to some bullshit film festival in my country and this got me thinking about hologram technology and camgirls...
Is anybody familiar with the technology involved with projecting a live hologram of somebody? Sounds like a great prospect for the future... |

if a lignere store in this clip can afford the technology I'm sure the technology will be available soon to stream in 3d from home... |

But i can't afford the developpement of a 3d system Also you don't see the infrastructure that is certainly hidden but that could be too heavy for an end user. |
Wow, everyone is way off.
Don't kill me, but there are no such thing as Holograms, that can be projected into empty space. Everything you have seen is not as it seems. In order to see any projected image, it must be reflected off of something. When you see a hologram in person, you are seeing a reflect off of glass or other semi-transparent material, which is based on an old trick known as the "Peppers Ghost" Illusion. If you have ever been to Universal Studios, Florida, and saw either the old Ghostbusters Show or the new Disaster! attraction, you have seen this effect. The Holograms that you have have seen on CNN during their election coverages (or the "Princess Leia" broadcast from a few years ago), are not holograms. The news anchor is looking at nothing. The image the viewer sees is a combination of 2 live scenes (the anchor and the reporter, or the anchor and the computer graphics), stitched together in 3D computer space, to LOOK LIKE the anchor is really interacting with graphics or a Holigram, but in reality he is interacting with nothing, and is on an empty stage by himself. |

I am just glad and excited I registered the best .com "holocam" domain several years ago :thumbsup |
That would be good having a life size girl perform in your room

That hologram is brilliant advertising for that store!

Those arent holograms, and neither was Tupac.
It's just a tricky illusion done by projecting an image onto a plate of glass. People have been doing it for dozens of years. Go to Disney's Haunted Mansion and you can see it happening live. It's called a Pepper's Ghost in the movie business. |

Of course what's new is that the image is recorded/generated/cgi/remote and not of an actor live in the next room. I think people might be keen on full life-size camgirl effects, but the tech overhead is just going to make it unusable for quite a while. |
