Can PC people watch MOV files on Windows machines?

I'm thinking of adding MOVs to my members area.

Macs have no problem with this, but what about everyone else?

Currently I only offer WMVs, but I'm thinking of adding MOVs as a second option.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

MOVs work on PC, but I think most people don't like it..

CrkMStanz 12-16-2012 11:52 AM

yes

I use the current k-lite codec pack and the Microsoft Media Player Classic loaded from there

works perfectly

leg4 12-16-2012 11:55 AM

I use Windows daily...

.MOV plays with no problem, but like the guy said above... We just dislike this format,
Its clunky.

MaDalton 12-16-2012 11:55 AM

why dont you use mp4 with H264 - works perfectly on both OS and on mobile devices.

i dont see any reason to use anything else

BIGTYMER 12-16-2012 12:03 PM

Yes and I like movs.

Rochard 12-16-2012 12:05 PM

PC can do anything MAC can do.

woj 12-16-2012 12:26 PM

don't use movs, like MaDalton said, use mp4 instead... :2 cents:

This.

Don't see the advantage MOVs or WMVs have over mp4 with h264

ls101 12-17-2012 02:16 AM

I like MOV.

loopardo 12-17-2012 02:17 AM

yeah, sure! but why would you want to do that?

I made the decision to offer 3 file formats for all Pecker Pass updates moving forward - WMV, MP4, and MOV.

I've provided these 3 formats for a number of recent updates within our membership area, but now I am getting at least one customer a day writing to tell me he cannot view and/or download the new clips.

I need at least one or two PC users and maybe one or two Mac users to check this out for me. I cannot reproduce any problems from my office.

If you have some technical expertise and want to help me out with some feedback, please drop me a line and I'll send you a free 10 day Pecker Pass for your troubles.

Thanks in advance!

So just to be clear, someone who hasn't recently visited my membership area, has decided to chime in with a theoretical assumption pulled directly from his ass.

You have to love GFY :thumbsup

actually, since i know you personally, & i know you are having difficulty with software from a company that you bought the compressor from, i believe my feedback is not pulled directly from my ass, but instead is based directly on your feedback to me about the software.

but since you cant duplicate the problem, your customers are obviously wrong, & the new compressor software should obviously be ruled out.

good luck. :upsidedow

Your misinformation regarding this issue is staggering.

If you are attempting to help me in some way, you have failed. :2 cents:

MOV is the worst format to play on PC. As for editing.. it's a whole nightmare. Go with WMV + MP4.

sojproductions 01-02-2013 08:43 AM

wmv and mp4 all the way, get a streami9ng option for mp4 also and it will work on every device pretty much.
