STOP THE PRESSES: 12clicks to pose nude??

Klixxx magazine article: http://www.klixxx.com/stories/10q/12clicks.html

Artistic only. I'm sure that includes bukakke. :thumbsup

From the article:

<b>Q: <i>What do you think about today's newbies - better or worse than a few years ago?</i></b>

"I'm afraid they are much worse. There are too many guys in this business that think they are experts after 2 months of gallery building. They *know* sponsor "X" who's been here since '96 shaves sign-ups and they *know* it's not possible to do x y and z. This is the reason so many of the old timers (myself included) have gone quiet on the boards. I'm done wasting my time defending the ideas of my multi-million dollar business, against the attack of some 19 year-old, making beer money out of his dorm room closet. Today's newbies are more interested in the show than the business."

You damn newbies are gonna have to smarten UP.

Or else.

What about a 19 year old with a gun to his face.

Old farts who think they are god of the net just becasue they got in the game early are far more annoying.

So true. I always said..... that 12clucks is one smart fucker. I'm pretty sure he got his old avatar saying "<i>Smarter than God</i>" from me. I'm sure of it.

When you sign the paycheques of other people, you have a certain right to show off some pride. You've earned the right to talk as if you know something.

And sorry, I have no clue what you're referring to by the "gun to his face" question. Come down off your poprocks n pepsi high and explain please.

Very true, there were lots of webmasters who were around in '95 and DIDN'T make money.

It just really surprises me how people can't make the connection between a gun culture and gun violence.

0.28 firearms-related homicides for every 100,000 people in Australia in 1998.

4.00 firearms-related homicides for every 100,000 people in USA in 1998.

Only a moron wouldn't be able to put two and two togther with those statistics.

Damn right we have a gun culture. And I'm proud of it!!

I'll shoot any man who tries to take my right to bear arms away from me. You guys are nuts for letting your gov. bend you over like that.

You enjoy your drive-by's, mass murders and family massacres. :1orglaugh

We'll pass thanks. :winkwink:

We had a big massacre and decided one was enough.

Civilians don't need guns here unless they are farmers.

Sometimes the price of freedom does not come without it's vices.

That's really not a lot of firearms related homicides compared to all the people who own guns (legally and illegally) in this country. If we were the kind of radical idiots you make us out to be, I'd expect those figures to be much higher.

People will find a way to kill other people with or without guns.

You didn't decide anything. You let your government do it for you.

I saw a show that portrayed Australians as not being very happy about the confiscation of their weapons. Or was that show misleading?

That was the rednecks... what redneck likes having his gun taken?

Just a couple of points though:

1. The guns were BOUGHT back for a good price.
2. We've never really had guns anyway, at least not in the cities. We don't need them.

the new thing is electric tasers or bear mace!

CD, I always knew you were gay!:winkwink:

CDSmith 02-19-2003 11:25 AM

Joe ol boy, you said yourself you have a whopping 19 million people in your "mostly outback" island continent. Canada hasn't got much more, at around 31 million, but we still have crime. You saying Australia doesn't have crime? Your founding colonists were almost ALL criminals.

Yes, let's disarm our civilians. Great idea. The criminals, who will buy guns illegally, can then rape us at will.

Taking shots at the USA for their high-profile crime rate is useless... other countries of similar population size have high crime rates too. You think Russia doesn't have a problem with crime? Think again. But taking away the civilian's right to bear arms isn't the way to go, all that does is render the population defenseless, and that is a notion best adopted by morons.

12clicks --- I have a knack for getting to the meat of the matter.

traffictrader 02-19-2003 11:36 AM

Cynical? Depressed? You're going to have to show me the posts you read, because I don't see it. I can see where people might find him opinionated, but that's 12clicks, he's accomplished a fair bit more than most so maybe his opinion is worth reading.

People take the board personas of others a bit too seriously I think. In the private chats I've had with 12clicks I've found him to be a man that knows a lot, yet knows when to ask questions and when to listen. To me that is the mark of a wise man who possesses a positive outlook on life, rather than a "cynical" or negative one. I think you best start looking up the meaning of words before you go actually using them.

Look at me, I come off as a nice guy on the boards.... but I'm really a complete asshole in real life. :D

Wow I posted my comments and never read the thread again and it turned all weird about guns and shit.

I was just fucking around.

I've only been an adult WM for 2 months I've already more than trippled my investment. I'm young and all you old people cant deny that it was MUCH easier to make cash in this biz before it was so oversaturated (not to mention the drowning economy we are currently putting up with). I just hate the bullshit attitude that "oh I made more money than you and ALL new webmasters are crappy becasue I say so"

Take your money and shove it. You cant take it with you and when your long gone all those retards who don't know shit will take your place, but if i EVER get where you are I would not make shitty comments about how new webmasters are all stupid. Becasue it would just make me look ignorant.

Are you not paying attention when you're in school?
Here is what I said on the subject of noobs:

Kath asks,"What do you think about today's newbies - better or worse than a few years ago?"

12clicks responds
I'm afraid they are much worse. There are too many guys in this business that think they are experts after 2 months of gallery building. You'll notice I never say, "oh I made more money than you" or "ALL new webmasters"
I understand why you would take offence. It looks like I described you to a T even though the interview probably took place before you came on the net. :1orglaugh

If I'm such a stupid assclown why are you taking the time to respond?
Every second you "waste" responding to me is a contradiction to your point.

Your living proof money does not = happiness; your very bitter.

And yes the struggling economy is MUCH MUCH harder on somone with less capital to invest and less recources to fall back on. Its simple economics, but your mister super rich genus mastermind you should know this.

Save the name calling and "n00b" slinging for the counterstrike matches grandpa.

CDSmith 02-20-2003 01:27 PM

I can see where 12click's "noob" comments could really hit home with some people. Fact is, he's right. There ARE a lot of newbs that are in it for the *show* rather than solid professional business. I think his comments are directed at certain individuals, not *all* newbs across the board.

If you're a newb and you find that 12click's comments don't apply to you, then great. Shaddap and move along up the ladder already.

But if you're a newb and find that his words ring true in your case, then by all means start beakin' off so we know who you are.

What kind of potential do you see in mainstream that the rest of us are missing?

Nothing. :)
Mainstream has really taken it on the chin and most of our competitors have gone out of business. Sex ALWAYS sells. There is always a market for it. In mainstream, the advertising dollars have been sucked out of the market. It's very difficult too right now in mainstream. Only our overall experience and our early adult experiences have seen us through this tough time.
Good QA on the main stream. We too have seen most of our local comp. fold or give up. Not sure if I can agree that main stream is dead. We have seen a large increase as of late. :2 cents:
