Do you think hosted Galleries should be "dirty"?
 

Should there be pics on html, pics linked to sponsors or sponsors multisite options. Lots of banners and such. I am curious about people's opinions on this, since I see most sponsor hosted galleries are VERY VERY clean.

Sure they should have consoles and auto DL dialers too. :2 cents:

Hosted galleries are great and the more sponsor links the better...there's no need for these galleries to be clean, if a tgp webmaster has any interest in making money that is.

I agree that hosted galleries shouldn't be clean-- as long as they are honest. However, some of us err on the side of caution, so that more TGP owners will be happy with the galleries.

I completely agree, it will also push TGP surfers into making it harder to get free porn without sponsors. They will be like, screw all these banners I will just pay for it already.

I've only looked at a few sponsors hosted galleries and man, did they ever suck.. If I were a surfer I would NOT buy anything from them.... No thought went into their creation at all...

Though I haven't looked at everyone's, and I'm no expect but the ones I have seen, are a pretty big waste of bandwidth....

I'd agree that most do suck, especially with 2000 webmasters using the same ones everywhere. I have pulled a few sales here and there from a couple of sponsors hosted galleries but nowhere near as many as making them myself

the designs usually suck and they NEVER have good teaser text

I think the main problem is they are going to designers to make the galleries, and not TGPers. Designers will make it pretty. Professional TGPers will make it convert.

Some are pretty bad, but a few programs have some pretty good ones.

Take a peek in my sig and you'll see a shitload of them.

Some of the companies just offer them so they can throw a bunch of popups on them and make more money that way.

Even though they are always overused, Oxcash really tries to vary the gallery designs. They look like true billboards designed to get people to the main site. If they had some html picture pages I don't think anyone would escape the gallery without clicking through.

At diabolicagalleries.com we offer up to 6 variations on 1 template for each gallery made.

Diabolical does it right, giving you options depending on your purpose.

I rarely use dirty galleries because they simply don't convert on my sites, clean ones do better. I guess it is a matter of traffic type and experience.
