Dave Hester Claims "Storage Wars" Rigged!
Based on what I know about the business as I've been in it, as much as I think Hester is a stand-up-tall prick and-a-half, he is right!
There is more bullshit per pixel in that show than almost any other! LOL! http://www.tmz.com/2012/12/11/storag...it/?adid=hero5 "Storage Wars" -- the hit A&E show -- is deceiving viewers by making it seem contestants are bidding on unseen items, when the best goods are actually planted inside ... this according to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ. The lawsuit -- filed by the former star, David Hester -- claims he was axed when he complained to producers about the alleged rigging practices. Hester claims in one case producers planted a BMW mini car under a pile of trash. In another case, Hester alleges producers planted a pile of old newspapers that announced the death of Elvis. For some reason, that's a valuable commodity. And Hester goes on ... claiming the show even gave less than photogenic cast members money for plastic surgery to "create more sex appeal." Hester claims in the suit he was wrongfully terminated because he blew the whistle. But Dan Dotson -- the guy behind the show's auction company -- disagrees, telling TMZ, every unit seen on the show is legit and has a seal on it before they open it ... making it impossible for A&E to tamper with the units before filming begins. Dan adds, ?We only sell legitimate units on Storage Wars. Every unit goes through a 64-day legal process and no one has access to units prior to auction.? A rep for A&E tells TMZ, "We do not know about a lawsuit being filed and we do not comment on pending or threatened litigation." Hester's complaint and pleading: http://tmz.vo.llnwd.net/o28/newsdesk...-Complaint.pdf http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1..._wars_cast.jpg :2 cents: P.S. I really like Barry though because he reminds me of................................................ ....... ...........well, me! Or maybe Paul! LOL! :winkwink::winkwink::winkwink::winkwink: |
All those shows are fake. This was confirmed fake a long time ago already.
|
That guy is an asshole. Sour grapes it seems. Probably didn't get the payday he thinks he is worth.

I'd like to get some weed, a few boxes of wine, a room at a Days Inn and ass fuck that blonde for a weekend.
|
No shit Marion. Should be obvious when they are the only ones bidding. Plus it's reality TV.
Anyway, I am sure you have a ton of television experience in Kansas. |

So, like the weasel he is...he's trying to ruin them out of spite. Fake or not, it's not a bad show for 30 minutes or so. I watched the whole season when I was in the hospital. |
Having spent a few years not too long ago buying storage units and selling the stuff in them I can tell you that the show is clearly fake.
I don't know about them putting stuff of value in the units, but I had read that the stars of the show are encouraged to overbid in order to make sure they get the unit. If you watch the show you will notice as bidding starts there are often several bidders, but as the amount goes up it always ends up being just between the stars of the show and nobody else bidding. They are likely being reimbursed for overbidding on the units. As for Hester, he was being sued by a few different people who say he ripped them off and I know during season 2 he demanded a raise because he felt he was the star of the show and he held out (which is why he wasn't in several episodes). His businesses have been hurting so he probably tried to get another raise and when he couldn't and got fired he is making another money grab at them. |
Let's pretend for a minute the show is real. What would prevent Hester from showing up and bidding at a public auction?
|
You guy thought that show was real?:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

You aren't at a real storage unit auction until most every unit has a mattress with some kind of bodily fluid stain in it. |

Hmm... all you have to do is look at the number of "writers" in the credits to understand its BS.

it bothers me to watch some of them because they do not put enough effort into making them even seem real, I laugh more then anything but it is annoying when the show is made for someone with an IQ of 30 lol

I've been to a decent amount of storage auctions and can say that most of the units are absolute shit. They would need to follow these guys for weeks if it were real, to get the type of stuff these guys get for just a single episode. Same thing with pawn stars and other shows like it.. Nothing but fake bull shit reality TV. |
Dave is an annoying dry drunk, I bet he is the king of AA lol you can just tell he is a big time AA junkie if you have even been to one of that cults meetings, you will always have at least one Dave Hester there, with tons of annoying advice, that never actually had a problem with alcohol, they just goto the meetings to think they are important and to be annoying. I love that Barry guy, and he is Jack Nickolson, not whoever posted above whatever they compared him to he is almost exactly Jack Nicholson lol I love Barry tho he is kool as shit, not the brightest guy even with everything fixed he always manages to lose money every week and buy dumb shit, but he seems to have a pretty big trust fund or did real well in another biz years ago so he doesn't seem to give a fuck he's just having fun :)

It's kinda obvious when they "find " jewelry and money.no sane person would store expensive trinkets in a storage locker without trying to get them out.most people remember what is stored
|
who cares. it is entertainment. reality tv is like reality porn. its meant to look real but its not. they just do a better job on a bigger budget :)

I saw a breakdown today of how much Hester was making on that show. $25k/episode & other stuff brought it to about $600k/yr.

Next you're going to tell me that South Beach Tow is fake...

1. You would be shocked how many people will pay $150 per month or more to store trash. I mean literally trash. If they threw out half the garbage that was in the locker they could get one half as big or it is filled with shitty, cheap particle board furniture and you could replace everything in the locker for $300. 2. Some people will put all kinds of stuff in these things and leave them. I have found tons of sports memorabilia, jewelry, coins and currency, a variety of collectibles, a car, designer clothes and shoes, antiques and all kinds of valuable stuff. I once bought a unit that had nothing but car windshields and door glass in it. I often found myself wondering why the people didn't come and get at least those things if they knew they were going to default on the rent, but they don't. You would be shocked at how many boxes full of family photos I have seen left in units. You would think stuff like that would be something people would treasure and want. Along with all this stuff I have seen a ton of restraining orders, arrest papers and other things so I think a lot of these are products of divorce or domestic issues or people getting old/sick/injured etc. |
Of course these shows are fake. You have to be pretty dumb to believe it is real, it's always so obvious that it's fake.

What kind of paper trail do you leave behind on the real auctions?? Say you do find something nice, and it belonged to drug dealers or whoever and they come to get it back? How safe is it?
