My GF has a couple of friends that recently went to Hawaii together. They are both good looking girls in their late 20's. Those girls who are together, usually end up doing the same thing together (i mean having sex with random guys on vacation) because neither worries about being judged.
The promise to stay in touch is just a fake agreement, understood by both - serving only to alleviate some of her guilt of screwing someone right after meeting them. The girls did not have sex because they thought they found "the one". They sometimes just need to act that way/talk that way and keep up that charade to deal with the stigma attached to having sex too quickly.
