I'd like to know this too, I am also curious if i do it through visa, will paypal just get pissed and either close my account or just take the money back out of my account

I have heard that PayPal doesn't like people who charge back with the credit card company, since it undermines their system. You would risk getting your PayPal account summarily closed. Your best bet is to try dealing with it through PayPal.

Easy, just file a buyer complaint report on their website, they'll do an investigation and return your money within a few weeks, most likely. Paypal is virtually always on the side of the buyer, especially if the seller is selling intangible goods (IE, no postal tracking number).

Try getting a refund from PayPal. If that doesn't work, charge it back. Make sure you are right, though. :)

Don't charge it back, Paypal will close the account ( and its kinda hard to get another one )

The best way is to file a complaint. It actually screws the seller pretty badly since the money is subtracted from his account very soon after the complaint is filed.

Odds are very good that you will get the money back, I have never heard of paypal siding with the seller for intangible goods. I had a guy file a complaint once and even with me showing logs that he had downloaded the software, they still gave him the money.

You will have to wait though at least 2 or 3 weeks before they put the money back into your account. Guess they want to soak up some of the the intrest on it first ;)

I agree... post the buyer complaint... I did that once and the seller just refunded my money and asked very nicely if I would get paypal off of them.

Being the seller in a complait fucking sucks. Paypal wants data 9 ways from sunday, and STILL sides with the buyer.

It was nice of the guy to refund you though, he was already out the money once since paypal removed it from his account ( even putting him in the negative if need be ) right after the complaint was filed.

Have you talked to the seller to see if he will give you a refund before you have to deal with Paypal?
