Do you get annoyed by people who don't know how to say "Thank you"?

It bothers me when you don't get a "thanks" for holding the door open.

I have a long list of rants that revolves around common courtesy. Drives me nuts there are so few people with that characteristic left.

yeah. best is, if someone request something, you give him answer, and he dont say thanks :) that is sad :) but so far this happenned only on the internet, here in france is everyone smilling like they have some disease ... :)

I'm married to a non-thanker, but he's working on it. I think it was maybe not pushed in his household although his parents say thank you.

Funny you mention that. This morning at the gym i held the door open for 3 girls. They were not together, they just happened to walk in while i was walking out. Not 1 thanked me.

"Thank you" costs nothing, I don't expect & don't hinder for a thanks, but it's definitely nice to hear & I always thank people for anything given.

Never should a gift be refused & always a gift should be appreciated.

When you throw a party here and tell people that it starts at 3pm. you dont even have to be home until 4 because the first one wont show until 4:30 at least.

I'm annoyed when I hear someone answer a question by starting off with the word "so" when it's not appropriate.

Yes if I've done someone a courtesy or service I'd like a thank you if it's not part of my normal duty or whatever.

Depending on what is done, yes it's annoying. I don't even require a thanks... just simple fuckin acknowledgement alone will usually suffice.

When i'm getting served at a shop i always say please and thank you. Yet sometimes the asshole serving me doesn't even do it back. That is probably my biggest hate...

This one probably pisses me off the most. Then usually get a "YOU'RE WELCOME" given to them in a lovely tone after.

That's why i refuse to hold the door open for people...

Yeah, that is one of my pet peeves. I especially hate it when someone posts a thread asking a question and people go out of their way to try to give them a good answer and the OP never comes back to the thread to acknowledge it.

You know, every time I do fast food or speak to a cashier I'm always nice. Been there done that, and these guys are going a crappy job for peanuts. If I can put a smile on their face for a few precious seconds, well, it's worth it.
