Copyright Violation

How many of you have cried about someone stealing your shit online yet use "pirated" software such as Adobe and all your favorite Games.

Last night I stole all the content from Paul Markham and started a new pay site. I got it all off Kazaa. Good stuff! Everyone uses Kazaa and content is so expensive these days, so why not? It's not like I'm doing anything wrong...

Well, I guess everybody that runs a serious business doesn't (need to) use pirated software. I wouldn't take the risk just to save a few bucks.

Gutterboy 02-18-2003 11:54 AM

I simply cannot bring myself to pay $1000's for web development software that I can download for free in 10 minutes off of Kazaa.

I admit I am a moral faliure in this area.

DearAbby 02-18-2003 11:54 AM

I use and condone the use of stolen content all the time

I have no respcet for content providers or copyrights. Fuck them.

When I got into this business 3 years ago, I was talked into doing several softcore photoshoots (I wont mention the companies name).

I was given all the regular...you are going to be famous bullshit. They told me I was going to be in several internet websites for single women. I didnt know a lot about the internet, and thought it was a great opportunity for my modeling.

Three months later, my pictures were being sold to HUNDREDS of gay website owners.

Legally there was nothing I could do. I signed the contract.

FUCK ALL OF YOU

I doubt your alone on that one... I would wager a good number of webmasters do the same.

Here's advice I give all models:

1) don't do anything you wouldn't want anyone to know about
2) ask where and how the photos will be used
3) read the release before the shoot and assume that anything it allows will happen sooner or later
4) then, decide if it's something you want to do, and have the nerve to say no

It's difficult to enforce agreements that haven't been put on paper. Even though someone says something and means it one day, he may change his mind at a later date, or the material may end up being owned by someone else. Whatever the release allows will probably eventually happen.

That's really good advice. If only all content photographers were ethical as you.

Ive seen your posts on here before, and have seen a lot of your work. VERY NICE

You are what all content providers should be.

Keev 02-18-2003 12:50 PM

Still have a couple people on the board breaking and violating some of my pics,scripts,software.... not gonna name names at this point but I did meet a couple at Internext.

Interlude 02-18-2003 03:20 PM

I don't pay for some software... but then, I don't pay for porn, either (for viewing, anyway).

But I assume you're referring to porn that's been legally given away (in TGP galleries, for example). Downloading someone else's copy PhotoShop is simple thieving, just as sure as if you broke into your neighbor's house and stole her jewelry.
