I wouldn't bother if I were you, if you've still got enough hair left just use Alpecin (not the shampoo, the after-shampoo liquid)

Only if you go for the brand name, which there is no benefit of at all. Instead just get Kirkland, it's the same stuff :2 cents:

http://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Minox.../dp/B002VLZHLI

While Minoxidil will make you keep most your hair, the real question is what else is it doing? A lot ends up in the bloodstream; this is not a good idea. It was originally used to treat high blood pressure, then they accidentally found out that it makes you grow hair.

Much safer just to stick with rubbing Caffeine (Alpecin) into the scalp :2 cents:

GetSCORECash 12-05-2012 05:48 PM

I use it with a combination of Finasteride (Propecia). The side effects are, that I can't give blood to pregnant women. My dick still gets hard and I still cum once a day.

You would only know that I'm losing my hair because I wrote it on this board. If you saw me, you would tell me to get hair cut.

You have to attack it early, if you don't it really won't work. I've been doing it for 5 years, no complaint.

I get my pills from Germany, and generic Minoxidil at my local Sam's Club.

Oh no, please do not tell me you sport one of those Ringo Starr from the Beatles looking hairstyle wiglets.
Wake up hungover, put your wiglet on backwards, sell Shemp.com and a few days later wonder if you would have profited more if you would have sold out to Manwin.

I looked into a transplant and was using propocia. The girlfriend at the time said I had to decide between hair and and sex as it was not working.

So I did not attack it early but we will see. I am not ruling out the transplant if this does not work.

I'm 39 and would put my conditioning up against most people 15-20 years younger than me, but if science will allow me to boost my testosterone to the same levels as an 18 year old why wouldn't I take advantage of it?

Yeah... heard about the stuff and went to the doctor to get me some untill she told me about the side effects:

Side effects of finasteride include impotence (1.1% to 18.5%), abnormal ejaculation (7.2%), decreased ejaculatory volume (0.9% to 2.8%), abnormal sexual function (2.5%), gynecomastia (2.2%), erectile dysfunction (1.3%), ejaculation disorder (1.2%) and testicular pain. According to the product package insert, resolution occurred in men who discontinued therapy with finasteride due to these side effects and in most men who continued therapy. The PPI also states that patients have reported persisting erectile dysfunction despite discontinuing the drug. In December 2010, Merck added depression as a side effect of finasteride.[12]

I told her... never mind... forget about it... i wasn't here, ok?

Anyone use this stuff without having side-effects?

what do they mean by 'resolution'? the side effects resolved themselves, went away?

timlover 12-05-2012 09:25 PM

The best start before you start using Rogain is to use a DHT removing shampoo that will remove the buildup from the hair follicles. DHT is a byproduct of testosterone which is what causes the thinning hair and the death of the hair follicle.

Rogaine only works for the balding in the back of the head and not the front, so the sooner you can stop the front follicles from dying out....you will also get the benefit of alot of those follicles that aren't really dead yet....but weren't producing alot of hair...back into action.

I've been using Nioxin for about 13 years now and it stopped my hair loss in my late 20's. I'm 40 now and my balding in front hasn't gotten any worse.

I highly recommend this for all men whether you are balding now or not..

I Read Some On The Site, I don't see How This Stuff Would Work, Baldness Has Nothing To Do With "Clogged Pores" Which Seems To Be Their Approach?

Balancing DHT Levels With Minerals And Herbs Seems More Of A Rational Approach.

Get a hair transplant. I was skeptical until I saw my friends after a few months. Think he paid about $6k and had a lot of hair transplanted because he was thinning badly at 33. Two years later and he has a thick head of hair.

It took me six months to see some results, and about two years to actually notice. The best thing I did, was take pictures every three months as it motivated me to keep doing it.

I also purchased a Red Light Hair Growth Machine for $2K, and used it for 40 minutes three time a week for the first year. I pull it out every so often, as it does make your hair thicker.

Propecia hasn't changed me, and I can't see the side effects. I'm the same and as my story above states... I haven't had any issues.

wehateporn 12-06-2012 10:04 AM

We know DHT can make you go bald, but let's not forget DHT is there for a reason, it's making your brain a 'man's brain', it's making you competitive like a man. Getting rid of or reducing DHT using Propecia will make you less of a man.

If you care a lot about your hair, it's ok to reduce the DHT on the scalp using a topical solution, but reducing DHT in the body is not a good idea for most, unless they're after a sex change. :2 cents:

Without your DHT you'll start going to soft/sexy sites like WeHatePorn instead of hardcore. :1orglaugh

Usually means that if you stop taking something then the bad effects will stop too instead of being permanent.

Drugs like Propecia block DHT production. Therefore reducing the DHT that finds its way into the scalp. DHT contains an sebum based plaque. The plaque is what clogs and kills the hair follicle.

The Nioxin shampoo is just a topical method to remove existing DHT / sebum that is already in the scalp.

It's just an alternative to taking drugs to control it, plus the drugs don't remove any existing condition that you already have up there....so like I said....its a great way to start any kind of program....that will include medicine as well...

slapass 03-19-2013 06:26 AM

The rogaine is going great. I think I will add Nioxin. The bald spot in back has filled in and my two areas up front are showing new hair.

dyna mo 03-19-2013 06:40 AM

this is working for me:

kirkland 5% minoxidil (2x daily)

nexus biotin shampoo (use daily 2x, leave on 3 minutes)
removes dht

nizoral 2% shampoo (2x a week max, leave on 3 minutes)
http://www.hairlosstalk.com/hair-los...ments/nizoral/

Nexxus VitaTress Biotin Scalp Creme ( 2 daily)
removes dht

this has worked for me restoring hair on the crown of my head and at the front around the hairline.

Tim do you use anything else apart from Nioxin? What's your thoughts on using Rogaine?

I've read quite a lot about Propecia and I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole! My boners are important to me! :)

Why only two times a week for the Nizoral?

What's your routine?

1) Nexxus VitaTress Biotin Scalp Creme
2) Nexus biotin shampoo
3) Kirkland 5% minoxidil

Just wondering if you're using it in this order? How much of an improvement have you noticed?

according to what i've read, the nizoral can prove countereffective for hairloss if overused, also, the medicine is supposed to stay in your system/scalp suffiently between applications. at least that's what i've read about it.

i shampoo 1st, then apply the minoxidil and scalp creme. i have seen a significant change, the crown issue is dealt with, lots of new hair all over the crown region and while not as noticeable, the front is responding well too. i am very satisfied with the results so far, ~3 months in

All about enjoying life. 90 seconds a day or less on the hair thing. It would take longer to shave my head.
