PPS Programs and Chargebacks
I was always under the impression that PPS was paid per sale regardless of chargebacks. I recently had a PPS program send me a check with 2 chargebacks deducted. It this normal?
Mind you these are the only 2 chargebacks I've ever had with this program or been deducted for in 3+ years. |

Typically yes. A loss of transaction from your traffic is usually deducted. Infact the webmaster sometimes will pay a large fee ONTOP of getting a refund/chargeback so we lose twice as much.
Everyone lately will notice a higher degree of REFUNDS. These are administered at the processor level to maintain a healthy conversion ratio that our credit card companies need to maintain for us to continue business. It's frustrating but people are dishonest and try to scam themselves out of legitimate transactions they make on their own. |

In general as a program if that's 1 chargeback every sooo many ok sales (like 1 every 50+), we don't even care to deduct or tell this to the affiliate as it is unnecessary bad news. If that's 1 chargeback every 3 sales that's a fraud affiliate and we ban him. Then the situations in the middle, we decide case by case. It really depends, but for sure can't keep paying for all the chargebacks if these are many (each chargeback is associated with $25 or so fees, plus the amount chargebacked). |
Generally programs have around a 4% to 8% claw back. If the refunds or charge backs in an account go over those ratios then the refunds about that rate are passed back to the affiliate.

We don't have many refunds & chargebacks fromour network, usually about 3 or 4 a year, still 3 or 4 too many :2 cents:
