Heres how the USA should fight its wars...
 

I argue that with a 450billion$/year "defense" budget you could buy one non friendly country/year...avghanistan? no problem simply bribe the fuck out of everybody who is anybody with 450bil they will be your bitches...no need to send armies...pay local mercenaries...you would need to spend 50bil in bribes, say 200 billion to build shit like factories,hospitals,roads,schools and 200 bil in the economy and you have a whole country in your pocket all the "insurgents" and "rebels" on your pay roll...no deaths , no bullets , no "support our troops" propaganda...

saddam/bin laden/whoever simply but a 1billion $ bounty on his ass...or 10billion....watch the people around him take the $$$$ and hand over the country...aint nobody gonna mess with you after that because serious money talks in a most serious way...

seriously the 450billion/year the USA spends on "defense" is wasted...in the last decade 4.5 trillion has been wasted on making the world hate the fuck out of the USA...

OR for example take the 450 billion and buy more oil instead of "Securing it" with military force?

It does seem that way, doesn't it? But there are so many things which come out of our defense budget that we never think of.

How many people are directly employed by the US military? Keep in mind the money spend on our defense also includes everything from housing to food to clothing for our miltitary - as well as medical for members of the military and their families. Then factor in everyone who works for the US military who is not part of the military, and then how much money members of the US military spend in the civilian world - some civilian towns exist and live off of the US military. Then factor in how much the US military spends on equipment - tanks, jeeps, planes, clothes, shovels.

Then factor in some of the things we use on a daily basis which came from the military. Computers, Internet, GPS, cell phones - all of these things come from the US military. One can only imagine how much airline safety has improved because of the US military. Nuclear power, Anesthesia, Penicillin, rubber....

That's just a start.

They have already tried buying Afghanistan and it is such a broken up country with local warlords everywhere that it didn't work.

450 billion goes a long way in the 3rd world...if you were to just make a one time investment of 400 billion in any normal size country it would turn things around a lot...im from the 3rd world i know how much things can be purchased for $$$...

rochard has a point though...war is good business for the USA...
