Bullying Caught on Video

Man caught on video making fun of girl with cerebral palsy sentenced to jail

CANTON, Ohio -

A northeast Ohio man caught on video apparently making fun of a young girl with cerebral palsy has been sentenced to a month in jail.

William Bailey, 43, was sentenced to the maximum sentence after pleading no contest Tuesday to reduced misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and aggravated menacing, court officials said.

Bailey was caught on cellphone video at a school bus stop making fun of how the 10-year-old disabled girl walks. The video was then widely disseminated on the Internet and local TV news, the (Canton) Repository reported

Bailey denied he was mocking the girl, saying he was reacting to name-calling directed at his 9-year-old son.

Bailey apologized to the girl and her family in a statement Tuesday.

Hope someone makes fun of how he walks when he gets out of jail.

Disgusting for sure... but going to jail for it????? American legal system is really out of control... They handcuff you and throw you in jail over there for nothing...

Struggle4Bucks 11-30-2012 05:25 PM

American legal system runned by emotions...
A month jail is just as disgusting as the act of making fun out of that girl...

No, he should not go to jail in a perfect world. In a perfect world, people should be allowed to beat the shit out of him for it. That's how things used to work and it worked pretty good.

It wasn't too many years ago that everyone knew how to act. Everyone knew what was expected of them and few people were just running around the streets being total, immature assholes and shitting out kids and acting like children themselves rather than responsible parents.

No... but i wouldn`t call it a month of jail...

_Richard_ 11-30-2012 05:34 PM

sentence is not long enough..

Struggle4Bucks 11-30-2012 05:37 PM

I woudn`t even call it a legal issue... these are not issues for the legal system in my opinion...

Sly 11-30-2012 05:42 PM

I have news for this little girl… this isn't the last time she's going to get made fun of. She needs to learn how to handle these situations better. Hiding in the house and sending others to jail is only going to turn her into a hermit.

I thought the same thing. I didn't watch the video, but according to the story on yahoo, it seemed to go a little further than just making fun. The menacing charge, which is the one he got 30 days for, was not for this incident at the bus stop. This was for something that took place with the girl's mother. "Bailey, she said, "was swinging a tow chain on his porch, saying he was going to choke me until I stopped twitching." That's a little beyond just laughing at someone.

The two houses are probably at war with one another. This guy is just the one who got busted on video first.

Alice22 11-30-2012 06:31 PM

It's disgusting.
What a jerk !
But, to go for a jail because of that? I am surprised.

A grown man harassing a 9 year old girl ??

If it isn't, it sure as hell should be.

Besides, the only other remedy would be for the girls father to go after the jerk and that would most definitely result in getting the legal system involved.

please, inform us on how the 9 year old should have handled an adult approaching her that doesn't involve the police

shooting his ass doesn't count.

Putting it like that... yeah... seems there was more involved...
But stupid media should not bring it like this:
Man caught on video making fun of girl with cerebral palsy sentenced to jail
Like what happend on that video should be worth jailtime....

Always the fucking media with their goddamn misleading bullshit headlines...

First of all, the girl didn't go to the police. Her parents did. So what she did or didn't do doesn't even matter.

Second of all, her parents need to teach her that people like this are going to exist in life. She cannot become a shut in because of other peoples ignorance. That is what she is doing. That is not good at all. She already has that desire built into her due to her being embarrassed about her disability.

easy to say when you dont have cerebral palsy!

Professor Frisky 11-30-2012 08:40 PM

Yes he should go to jail for it, because the onlysensible reaction otherwise, would be to beat the ever living fuck out of that guy. Now if you went and did tat, you'd rot in prison. If you can't get away with giving him what he needs to get on the outside, put him in. Is everyone fucking retarded these days?

Yes but when you have people convicted of DUIs and assaults doing less time then this guy...something is wrong.

So he was sentenced for threatening a 9 year old... threatening to kill her...
That`s something different then making fun of her at the busstop...
Always great these media headlines:disgust

Struggle4Bucks 11-30-2012 09:12 PM

Shoplifter sentenced to death

When police searched his house after he was arrested for shoplifting they found 15 murdered people. So... obvious he was not sentenced to death for shoplifting, but we, fucking idiot media, thought it was a better headline to state that a shoplifter was sentenced to death! No one believes that you will be sentenced to death for shoplifting so
we are sure people want to read the whole story because they don`t understand a fuck about the headline!

Every case is different and that's why judges are traditionally given a fairly wide latitude when it comes time to pass sentences.

Clearly the judge viewed this guy as a total piece of shit with absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I wasn't there, but I'm rather inclined to agree with his assessment.

why are you 'first of alling' me? you're the one stating she shouldn't hide in the house or send people to jail and i was responding to it.

second, of, all, i would say that she has learned that people like this exist, and in the worst ways possible, wouldn't you?

and being 'shut in' would be doing nothing. whereas a 9 year old was able to take upon some control over her, own, life, right, sly?

Real sentence will probably be given as soon as he gets in the jail.

At least I hope it does.

If it was up to me he'd be in there for six months.

Besides, it's not like anybody is likely to miss seeing him around town.
