Wikipedia addicts?

I get lost on that site, hours and hours. I think it's the single greatest by-product of the Internet.

A lot of my Wikipedia journeys begin on GFY, somebody mentions something interesting in a post and I realize I don't know much about it OR a conspiracy kook type writes something that smells bad and then it's off to Wikipedia.

I'm the same way also. My GF hates it and calls it my crack. It also doesn't help that I remember basically everything I read nearly verbatim. My library of useless knowledge has increased significantly in the past 2 years since starting the habit.

If you want me to send a message to Jimmy, let me know. I'm whitelisted.

I too can get lost on Wikiedia. I can search for one word, anything WWII related, and be lost for hours.

My trigger is geography, countries, or histories of a country. Whenever I start reading about any of those, I am screwed. There is no stopping.

WWII is one topic that there is almost limitless fascinating stuff to read about on Wikipedia.

The Vietnam War, Watergate and Iran Contra are what I've been reading about lately.

To contact Jimmy from Bomis. Most of his longer-term relationships can contact him directly, whereas the day-to-day rabble cannot.

That's been my main kick lately also. I'm mostly a history buff period. Can learn a lot about people by studying their behavior in the past. :2 cents:

It's funny because information/research/reference seemed to be the original purpose of the internet, or one of the primary early purposes of it, and now one site dominates most of that. Information Superhighway = Wikipedia.

Me too. I get stuck on national histories, the middle ages, noble lineages, the history of the great Khans, central asian

I love Wikipedia too. I play historical strategy games online so I can spend hours researching ancient and medieval history & wars as well as other more contemporary topics.

I can do countries too. I love reading about small countries no one has ever heard of.

Maldives is a favorite of mine.

One of my favorite cities is another gem I found on Wikipedia - CHampione d'Ialia

I read about WWII stuff constantly. So many things happened during the war that entire military campaigns were forgotten about. All of it is documented on Wikipedia and you can read about them until the end of time.

I'm also a human Wikipedia crawler. By the time I've finished one article I've opened two or three more in other windows. It doesn't end until I start looping back to stuff I've already read. :1orglaugh
