I can only say > Thinkpad rulz! they are good office laptops but they look great in the kitchen to :D

PR_Glen 11-27-2012 12:12 PM

Agreed mate, also the other day I dropped it on that same kitchen floor - the dvd drive flew out but everything worked like a charm after inserting it :1orglaugh

_Richard_ 11-27-2012 12:37 PM

now those are steaks

Scott McD 11-27-2012 12:38 PM

Nah, we make too much mess when we cook. Not recommended for us at all...

v4 media 11-27-2012 12:45 PM

I'm working in the kitchen today. We've got snow, so I've got the wood stove on, working at the kitchen table all toasty, pot of chilli bubbling away.

Heat from radiators just doesn't feel the same.

Space is at a premium though. Dog, kitten and ferret all fighting for that front spot.

Spunky 11-27-2012 12:49 PM

Mine is a desktop and in the other room,I enjoy cooking a great meal

CDSmith 11-27-2012 12:55 PM

Ha, working while cooking is a way of life for me. It's all about timing, and I've been doing it so long it comes as easy as breathing.

Cooking while sleeping, now THAT'D be a talent worth bragging about.

pornguy 11-27-2012 01:31 PM

You need a maid.

A lot of people cook while they're working.. They're called chefs... Or in half of GFY's userbase like to be called "fry cook".

PornMD 11-27-2012 01:58 PM

I can microwave or bake and work at the same time. Doing stove stuff and having to pay attention to cooking while working, doubt I could. Hell, I forget to eat while I work as it is.

Sid70 11-27-2012 02:01 PM

I eat and work, thats doable.

Markul 11-27-2012 02:06 PM

If you live my life, you have to be able to cook and work lol. Here's a standard week day for me:

Get up at 6 AM. Let out dogs (garden is fenced). Put on coffee. Shower. Let dogs in again.
6:20 AM Wake up kids, get them breakfast. Drink coffee.
6:45 AM Find clothes for youngest kid, Make lunch boxes for kids, check mail, drink more coffee
7:00 AM Wake up girlfriend, iron shirt and get your self dressed and make sure kids are dressed.
7:15 AM Talk to girlfriend, brush teeth on kids.
7:30 AM Drive youngest kid to school.
8:10 AM Take train/metro to office, work while doing this.
9:00 AM at office. Work.
15:20 AM take train/metro/car back, work on train/metro
16:30 PM pickup youngest kid from school, go shopping
17:30 PM force kids to walk dogs, work a bit
18:00 PM cook dinner, work
19:30 PM tug in youngest. Read bedtime story.
20:00 PM work, talk to gf when she gets home (she's a shop manager, works odd hours)
Midnight, stop working, go to bed. Sleep for 6 hours, repeat day.

suesheboy 11-27-2012 02:18 PM

Nice kitchen, but if you lover to cook, please get a real sink!

You need to learn how to cook by the looks of what is happening in that fry pan...

Are they big ass chunks of burnt mince? That is disgusting mate.

They did get a little burnt, but they are supposed to look like this:

http://www.nerdgirl.dk/wp-content/up.../karbonade.jpg

It's minced pork/beef dipped in egg and breadcrumbs. Potatoes and bernaise sauce. Not a complicated dish. But yea, I'm not a master chef - we gotta eat mind though ;)

Yeah fair enough, but that looks bad still - look at all that oil.

Bake - you can work and not have to even stand in the kitchen :thumbsup

No idea i will ask the chef at mcdonalds next time i go

fuzebox 11-27-2012 05:14 PM

I overcooked two dishes last week because I keep running back to the computer while waiting :(

beerptrol 11-27-2012 05:47 PM

I only work and cook while I'm slow cooking something on the stove, crock pot, or oven.

Adam_M 11-27-2012 08:59 PM

I love cooking so I can forget about everything else for a few hours and relax

Mr Pheer 11-27-2012 09:09 PM

I cooked & worked yesterday... took me about 6 hrs but these pork ribs were well worth the trouble.

SpaceDoc 11-27-2012 09:52 PM

i have multitasking practice all day long in that kind of office :) , just when i'm sleeping

Danish yea. I think the fronts are from IKEA, but wtf do I know. It was there with the house, it's on the to-get-fixed-list.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 11-28-2012 03:09 AM

I like to focus on cooking when I'm cooking. With that said, I will sometimes prepare dishes and start food cooking (baking/roasting) and use a timer to keep track of time for me, while I return to work on the computer (in the computer room - designated work area; no fucking off...oops, unless you count hanging out at GFY).

I wouldn't want my computer in the same room where grease is boiling, or food could be spilled on it. There is a lot of moisture in a kitchen, which most computers don't like.

Anyway, your kitchen looks nice and cozy (and kitchens are never-ending projects as you upgrade appliances, change the floor and drapes over the years, etc., or maybe that's just my wife).

Btw, the Japanese have a similar dish, although Tonkatsu is a pork cutlet, dipped in an egg mixture with panko bread crumbs. It's really delicious!

same thing as i always did everyday, cooking while working :)

blonda80 11-28-2012 04:11 AM

I do. If I don`t take the laptop in the kitchen with me, I usually reminds myself that I am cooking by the smell :)

inventive 11-28-2012 05:34 AM

I'll have mine medium rare please

I really hate to prepare food, and I've just came from Mcdonald's. Anyway, there is some guy staring from the other side of window on that photo above.

Cleo 11-28-2012 06:10 AM

Don't set the laptop on the stove.

Does ordering pizza on the computer count as cooking?

John-ACWM 11-28-2012 09:20 AM

Not very often but I have to go back and forth between kitchen and bedroom when it happens.

Tom_PM 11-28-2012 09:32 AM

I run back and forth then log in to GFY while I'm eating. Just got done with some eggs and bacon with green onion and some hot pepper flakes. Not really "cooking" as much as stirring for that dish but I didn't have much time to waste.
Also, slow cookers are great for cooking overnight or while working.
