Pulitzer Prize journalist goes on Fox News and trolls them - Interview shut down

Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Thomas Ricks appeared on FoxNews on Monday to discuss their favorite topic, Benghazi, and had his interview abruptly ended....

Lol ....

spazlabz 11-27-2012 05:51 AM

shortest interview in history

TisMe 11-27-2012 06:30 AM

Seems fair and balanced.

/sarcasm :)

Major (Tom) 11-27-2012 07:01 AM

totally fair & balanced lol
ds

bronco67 11-27-2012 07:07 AM

Hahaha that's fucking awesome.

Wouldn't it be great if this started a trend of guests who came on Fox News and refuse to participate in their right wing circle jerk?

MSNBC is guilty of being pro left-wing, but at least they have intelligent people on their network. Bill O Reilly, Sean Hannity and most of the other Fox jackoffs are mental midgets with talking points straight from the front desk.

MaDalton 11-27-2012 07:10 AM

lol - amusing

while I agree with you conceptually in reality I would have to disagree that Billy O and Sean Hannity are mental midgets. They are smart as hell, know their audience and pander extremely hard to them while trying to appear both as leaders and as nobodies. They spew their propaganda, bully guests, raise awareness for their causes (and huge sums of money) all while stating that they are fair and balanced and just giving their opinions. I bet the line they walk is a lot more difficult and requires a lot more intelligence than it appears to.

I cannot watch either of them, I wont even allow my remote to rest on Fox News because with one sentence they can make my otherwise calm and rational blood boil... so they are good... very very good

Of course MSNBC is much better, much more fair and balanced and has a ton more journalistic integrity than Fox will ever have...because I agree with them :)

Tom_PM 11-27-2012 08:05 AM

It's always funny to me when I hear the line that there's someone on the left who "does the same thing" because it's complete bullshit manufactured by the only people who need folks to believe that.. fox news.

Great interview. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Robbie 11-27-2012 08:23 AM

I didn't see where he actually answered the topic at all.

Looked to me like he went on there to get some "high fives" from his buddies instead of addressing the subject.

The left in this country just wants to sweep that whole thing under the carpet. But if this had been BUSH in there...we would all be hearing: "Bush lied, and people died"

It's sad how people just root for their "team" in this country and don't care to hold our govt. accountable for the things they are doing.

Republicans lined up and let Bush have a free pass on anything and everything. He could do no wrong. (though I will say that O'Reilly did criticize him)

Democrats line up and let Obama have a free pass on anything and everything. He can do no wrong.

What happened to QUESTIONING power and govt?

I agree with them also -- but I also think someone like Rachel Maddow is smarter than most of the nitwits on Fox combined.

Look at the left and compare their pundits with the right. Jon Stewart basically destroyed Bill O Reilly in that "debate" they had online. If you want any proof that Bill O Reilly can't hold his own when talking to someone who has facts and intelligence on his side, then watch that. He was owned at almost every turn by Stewart. All O reilly could muster up was the stock right-wing platitudes.

Bill Maher always makes Republicans look stupid on his show, and it's not because he's bullying or talking over them. He calls them on their bullshit, and they don't have an answer that resonates most of the time.

I'm not trying to say you're defending those Fox assholes, just maybe giving them too much credit.

QFT ^^^

Everyone on this thread only seems to care about their party getting a pass on what should be a tremendous scandal involving Americans being hung out to be murdered while the administration did nothing, and then covered up and misled everyone about the incident.

If it was the "other team", there would be countless threads about how terrible this is, but if it's their own "team" responsible, then it's "Hey guys, isn't it funny that they are getting away with it"?

Watching the blind loyalty to political parties is like watching some kind of tribalism in action. Very sheep-like behavior.

I think the problem with this situation is the Right used it as a political football for election year politics. This puts the left on defense, because they have to defend against the attacks from the right.

You can't really blame the left for defending it's self. It's like killing someone because they tried to kill you. It's doesn't make you a murderer. The guy that started shooting first is to blame. Nine out of 10 times it's usually the Right that fires first. :2 cents:

They really don't give a shit. It's just something they can use to nail democrats to the wall.

What about the 3,000 killed right in the heart of New York city? Did anyone try to string up Bush for that? How about the thousands of young men and women killed in a war created over false pretense?

i still have no idea why this never became a bigger issue

you lie, you make things up, you go to war, tens of thousands die but Halliburton does good...

Yes, there was a ton of protest and coverage over it. Where were you from 2001 to 2008? Troop deaths were constantly talked about and there were protests in the streets. There were congressmen and senators making statements about US soldiers terrifying Iraqi civilians, and about civilians rights being trampled. Code Pink was getting daily coverage for their "sit in" outside the Bush Ranch for 2 months, etc, etc, etc,....

Now move to today, and interestingly more have been killed in Afghanistan under Obama, but the daily casualty count by the New York Times stopped the day he took office. The Democrats don't care about drones killing babies, or soldiers killed, or coverups over American diplomats being killed. If it's Obama doing it, it's ok. All the protests seem to have stopped, and most of the media has stopped covering it.

This is the problem with "team" politics. This thread is a perfect example. There is no sense of right, or wrong, there is only, "Well, the OTHER guys did it first!", or "The OTHER guys did worse things".

So it just points out that NO ONE cares who gets killed or what gets covered up. You all only care about "getting the other guys", and "defending my guys". No matter what they do.

Pretty sad folks, pretty sad.

As a foreigner who does not care at all about the issue in this thread but who has read some of your posts you always stood out to me as prime example of one who definitely is always on one particular side.

just sayin, not even trying to have a dig really just find it amusing

TheSquealer 11-27-2012 10:47 AM

How ignorant are you people? A guy was invited on a show - he was asked to comment, he gave his full comment and the segment was over. How hard is that to understand? Do think the guy was supposed to talk for 90 minutes or something? He got to plug his book and comment on the issue being discussed and his full comment was heard, even though it attacked the very network he was on. Seems pretty fair to me. I fail to understand how he "trolled" them and then the interview was shut down.

I'm a libertarian. I'm definitely on one side when it comes to policy and worldview, but I'm NOT on one side when it comes to Republicans vs Democrats. I don't try to defend one party or the other when they are doing bad things. If Romney had won the election, you would see me speaking out about the same things. When it comes to local politics here in Miami, I get involved and fight ANY politician that tries to grow government power, no matter which party.

Do I have an opinion about right and wrong? Definitely. But that opinion is not erased or modified because one party or the other happens to be in charge at the moment.

That was an obvious plug pull. Fox can't have anyone exposing their oblivious viewership to the fact that they watch biased bullshit. That would be catastrophic.

How is this a scandal? I haven't been following this too closely. This was a terrorist attack on a US Embassy that had threats on a daily basis. How many embassies receive threats on a regular basis (I'm guessing a dozen or more) and how many of them have asked for more funding for defensive measures? I'm guess nearly all of them.

At the same time, spending on embassy security in the past ten years has gone up a lot, and is now more than ever.

And who controls the purse strings of the State Department and how much money is spent on Embassy security? It's Congress, not the White House...

But Obama covered it up and tried to say it wasn't a terrorist attack even though he was on national TV the next day saying it was a terrorist attack.

Since Fox News probably didn't run it, 48% of the nation doesn't know it and won't bother watching the video themselves because it makes them look retarded.

If your point was that the right minimizes legitimate protest about them but amplifies protests about the left based on omitted facts, then yes, I sure did.
