By today's standards JFK was a true conservative and a social progressive. He was also a smart man and had he lived, there would have been no war in Viet Nam as he intended to withdraw the US advisors because as a veteran of WWII in the Pacific, he knew what a quagmire it would become. He was also a true war hero.
Not that I approve of his daddy having bought the election and all but JFK was indeed a great President who spoke it like he saw it.
