looks like a beautiful setting and nice home but $495K for a one story home not in a big city seems expensive. how close is a decent sized city?

It's 15m from downtown Asheville. The house is actually a walk out finished "basement" (so much more like two stories). It's 4k sq/ft... It's a lot larger than the pictures indicate. The realtor didn't include some of the pics they really should have. It's a fair price, the original listing price when I first put an offer in was $625k. I offered $500k, builder wouldn't take it, so I bought it out of foreclosure a year later, hahhaha. (also the construction cost was $474k)

I'm moving to no place. After my house sells I'm going to spend the next 5 years traveling the world. I plan on renting furnished apartments 30 - 60 days at a time and hitting every (or damn near every) country in the world. It's going to be an epic journey; can't wait to get started, there will be much photography involved :)

Damn, that's a nice house for $500k. I'm assuming it's so cheap because it's in the middle of nowhere? Doesn't look like there is anything near it on the map.

whats the internet connection like and whats it like in dead of winter. Access? Snow? etc

I have 100 down connection so it's fast as hell :)

It rarely snows enough to need to plow, but if it does the HOA takes care of it within a day. It's only $250/yr for the HOA fees, it basically just pays for road maintenance. The only thing not allowed is a pig farm, hahaha.
