So now Moniker Spams

New game they are playing is advising via spam you that your domain is available as a .net for $8.59 or a .info for $6.99.

Must have received no less than 20 of these bullshit spams already which means they are doing it to everyone I know.

Spammers are sub humans. Moniker is on a last ditch effort to stay afloat based upon this and other behavior or they are drilling holes in their own boat to sink their ship.

woj 11-16-2012 07:50 AM

getting same crap too.... why do they even bother? shit like this probably converts at .001% rate and just pisses off existing clients....

BlackCrayon 11-16-2012 07:58 AM

and you never get offers from other companies you use? who cares. delete it and move on. if it doesn't work they'll stop doing it.

CurrentlySober 11-16-2012 08:11 AM

i cunt afford a domain...

suesheboy 11-16-2012 10:33 AM

I don't spam. I hate spammers and I refuse to do business with them.

AdultPornMasta 11-16-2012 10:54 AM

it's not spam from legal point of view, but it's "spam" because it's a bullshit offer that .001% of clients will take advantage off...:2 cents:

And that .001% is all it takes for LEGAL OPT-IN emailing to be profitable.

If you do not want to receive such emails, all you have to do is unsubscribe. Stop whining!

:2 cents:

FlowerKid 11-16-2012 01:55 PM

I also got some emails from moniker recently.

Denny 11-16-2012 03:47 PM

Getting their shit as well.

AdultPornMasta 11-16-2012 04:23 PM

Interesting that so many have time to bitch and moan about the emails but no one seems to have time to hit the unsubscribe link.

:2 cents:

EliteWebmaster 11-16-2012 04:24 PM

I sent them an email and promptly told them I was transferring all of my domains to another registar because of it. I unsubscribed to it but still a couple slipped through btw

Perhaps pissing off customers will end up losing more business than they catch via the mailing.

It would be nice if they did it as a single mail, rather than ONE PER DOMAIN. I have 80+ with them, am I going to receive offers for every single one?

no one is bitching and moaning, we are just discussing moniker's marketing strategies...
a domain registrar should know better than to engage in questionable marketing strategies like this...

it's one thing when you signup for groupon and get bombarded with crap, it's another when a bank or domain registrar fills your mailbox with bullshit offers... :2 cents:

The emails did not "slip through". It is not unusual for unsubscribe requests to take a few days to wade through the software. The US CAN-SPAM law gives mailers ten days to honor such requests.

I'm sure Moniker is shaking in its boots over the loss of your business. Opt-in emailing is ethical, legal, profitable and remember that YOU agreed to receive these email when you signed up with them

WTF?

They may not be shaking in their boots at losing my 600+ domains but multiply that by the number of pissed off people transferring their domains out of Moniker, and we'll see them quaking. Either way, I don't care of they are shaking or not.

Amazing how some people get it and some just don't
