UFC 154 St-Pierre V Condit

Anyone watching it this weekend?

Who's your money on?

GSP's first fight after being out for 18 months, so who knows what he is going to be like?
and Condit is always a dangerous fighter.

Personally.. i want to see GSP take this.

Thoughts?

I really want GSP to win this one. It's going to interesting to see how he performs after 18 months out. Do you know what he was doing during those 18 months? Training like a fucking psycho I hope.

Doctor Dre 11-16-2012 07:22 AM

GSP is gonna wrestlefuck him if his knee holds up

Relentless 11-16-2012 07:39 AM

Condit should win it. GSP isn't only coming back from a major injury, he is also old and has not fought in more than a year.
I'd like GSP to win but Condit is the smarter bet.

stephane76 11-16-2012 08:30 AM

GSP all the way!! He has worked/trained so hard after his injury.

EricManwinMobile 11-16-2012 09:09 AM

GSP all the way. Condit, has a strikers chance, but GSP is so well rounded. If anyone up here in Canada(Montreal), has been following the coverage on Sportsnet, GSP has never been more motivated. I am also, a little bias, as I look out my office window, right at Tristar gym, which is at most, 50 yards away.

GSP all the way!

From the interviews iv seen he looks pumped, but who wouldn't after not fighting for 18 months. theres no doubt he is itching to get back in the octagon.

I just hope his fitness is up to his usual level.

It appears that he is favourite on the books as well;

GSP 2/7 to win
Condit 13/5 to win

Ring rust will be a factor in the first few minutes. The first round will be very dangerous. After that it's pretty much a lock.

I definitely agree, Condit's best chance will come early. If it goes more than 3 rounds GSP is in very good position to win. Wrestlers usually do better in later rounds than strikers, GSP has plenty of late round experience and only an idiot would question his heart.

However, ring rust + injury + age make him a prime target for a striker in his prime. Condit isn't just a guy with a heavy set of hands.... he is very slick and uses some excellent strategies to set up his strikes. Check out the write-ups on Bloody Elbow... they do a fantastic job of style dissection. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2012/11/1...pierre-ufc-154

I vote GSP, but never count Condit out!

I won't be watching, sick of UFC wanting to rip me for $45 to stream their shitty laggy video. They can fuck themselves.

training like a gymnast actually. his training even inspired me with my workouts. Hope it works out anyway, that's a long time to be off.

GSP isn't really old in fighting age. Fighters tend to peak a lot later then most sports.
He has experience but he hasn't taken too much damage in his career.

EricManwinMobile 11-16-2012 01:10 PM

GSP's Land Rover, at 3pm today. Weigh in starts in one hour. Assuming, he left his car at Tristar and is heading over to the bell centre with Firaz, and Carmona. Another Perk from Manwin:thumbsup

31 years old with 25 pro fights in the last 10 years. Keep in mind he has only stopped 3 opponents since 2007... so most of his fights are going a full five rounds. Add in a decade of training like a maniac and the body starts to break down. I hope he can keep it going for another decade... but the odds are very uphill on that. :2 cents:

GSP for the win. Hopefully he can perform like back in this "Rush" days. It would be nice to see him finish a fight once again :)

EliteWebmaster 11-16-2012 04:37 PM

I became a UFC fan because of GSP and Overeem. As for GSP, he needs to take Condit down to the mat and dry hump him for the win. It's not an insult to GSP but that's the gameplan for him to win against Condit. It's his first fight back, he needs to forget about going all "Rush" on Condit. That would be a mistake in strategy. He needs to dry hump Condit and he will win :)

And I'm also stoked about seeing Overeem in the rink soon. They guy is a beast, a fan of him since his K1 days.

Can see condit storming gsp in this.. gsp is old, injured and past it, its time to move over.

Georges St-Pierre is a popular fighter. He gives interviews in front of thousands of fans. He is seen on many posters throughout many cities. I think he has the right spirit for victory.

Never underestimate those braving danger.

fuzebox 11-17-2012 03:02 PM

I wanna see Condit win. He's hungry and exciting to watch... Tired of GSP's safe victories.

TheSenator 11-17-2012 03:06 PM

I have Condit winning by an armbar in the late rounds.

Condit is going to connect and stun Pierre.

Relentless 11-17-2012 06:39 PM

Wow, that title fight was a beautiful thing. Bloody, grotesque, and yet two amazing athletes fighting it out primal human style. Awesome!

Relentless 11-18-2012 08:31 AM

GSP looked as good as I've ever seen him. Amazing how well his knee seemed to be. First Adrian Peterson, now GSP.... It seems the pros have finally figured out how to rebuild from serious knee damage.
Condit was good, GSP was better.

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 11-18-2012 10:20 AM

uh

mynameisjim 11-18-2012 04:10 PM

I'm a fan of GSP, but I have a lot of respect for Condit, he was game the whole fight and never wilted.

I do think this extra bulk GSP has put on has slowed his punching speed though. I know it helps him with his top game which is the best in MMA (he literally makes no mistakes), but it removes one of his threats.
