The critically acclaimed documentary ?Danland? about Immoral Productions colorful owner ?Porno? Dan Leal will be airing this weekend at the St. Louis International Film Festival and SF DocFest?s. Described by the Hollywood Reporter as,? A lively, explicit portrait of nice guys pornographer Dan Leal and his ill-fated attempts at real intimacy? it was shot over a three and half year period by director Alexander Berger.

The ill-fated odyssey of the entrepreneur is both intriguing and entertaining. Leal who was just starting his adult film career at the time, would one day become the owner of Immoral Productions which earned 25 XBIZ & AVN Nominations in 2012, including Studio of the Year. He tries his best to balance his life between his dreams of owning a porn studio and finding true love.

The Hollywood Reporter says it best,? it?s ironically the subject?not the raunchy subject matter?that ultimately keeps this documentary involving.? It is no wonder that Leal has since had two seasons of a reality TV show about his life, ?The Right Hand? that airs on The Movie Network and Movie Central in Canada.

i recall a canadian crew following dan around at AVN some years ago..
not sure if they were part of this production.
i dont think dan had even been in LA at that point, some kind of east coaster porn guy in a boa and a pimp outfit. typical dan style, but he got attention.

The crew for this movie is from New York and was with me at AVN back from 2005 to 2007, and yes I used to dress like a pimp complete with boas - lol
