Scottsdale/Phoenix People - HELP! Need movie and sushi advice.
Okay, today is my and Venturi's 3-year anniversary. Our needs are simple. We want to see LOTR II on the best nearby screen, and have some decent Sushi (NOT Shogun Express or some shit like that) within a reasonable radius. We're in far-south Scottsdale and we really don't want to go so far north our noses get cold, so Tempe and Mesa are not out of the question.
Please help! We've been desk slaves; we have no clue where to go. Don't make us consult that god-awful Qwest phonebook. Thanks in advance, Mishi |
there is a great sushi place on scotsdale road. accross from the old galleria mall. west side of the road.
kyotos 7170 E Stetson Dr the fashion square mall has a decent movie theater. The better one is in the mall by the food court. Harkins I think its called. |
I'll vouch for kyotos, plus the saki bombers are 4$ a set up...

If you want sushi go to Ra in Old Town -- it's so good that Benihani's buying them for something like 14 million bucks... I was in there Wednesday last week and it was just as good as ever --
as for movies, I don't know that one, sorry -- |

Sorry to bump this three days after the fact, but thanks for the great recommendations! We ended up going to Ra (Old Town) and it was perfect - just what I was looking for. Loved the atmosphere, loved the food, loved the cheap drinks. I want to go back about a hundred times this month and try everything on the menu.
In a word, YUM. |
Awesome Mishi!! Ra did a party for me before the Phoenix Forum last year and it was super, I love eating there -- they've got a new one at Kierland that's a little more laid back but has the same menu, if you're up that way -- and I haven't been to the Tempe store but lagwagon is vouching for it :)

I think that the food is a bit better, especially the mussles I can throw a rock at either right now, but I chose T&T Roadhouse tonight :thumbsup |
