Why in all hell does firefox create tens of thousands of cache files?
 

It's ridiculous... I just deleted 125,000 files after a couple of days of standard browsing.. that can't be good for the hard drive or the file system trying to keep track of it all- right?

I can't use chrome, right now, because it opens too damned many connections.. sigh
And we all know IE is NEVER an option :)

Can I make FF not do that without disabling the cache? I need to have the cache..

You could lower the cache to less Mb.

firefox does this because we are slaves.

You should be using Palemoon if you are a firefox user.
