Anyone in Long Island without power still?
 

Anderson Cooper is reporting on LIPA right now, and it does not look good. He said they still use paper maps, no smartphone or tablet technology and they have 25 year old mainframe style computer to run everything. They're basically not up to date or even remotely prepared for a disaster like this.

There was some suggestion that the military might step in to take control of LIPA and light a fire under their ass. I can't even believe that.

Got ours back today.. cousin still doesn't have theirs in east meadow because of a tree down on their lines next door :\

They were deregulated a while back. Since then they have fired most of their middle management, investing very little in infrastructure, raised rates constantly and soaked the public purely for profit. The next two years will be hearings, penalties, fines and hopefully some criminal prosecutions..

I got a friend in east meadow ny on long island and she is without power still...lipa told them the earliest is the 15th but dont expect anything until after thanksgiving

she is 9 months pregnant

Our infrastructure is horrible.

The east coast seems to be even worse - or is it just rural areas. All of our shit is underground so we have a storm and we never loose power.

how would they post if they were dark side?

Privatize everything!

Oh wait, that's why most of us hate our power companies now and have to deal with BS.
