"Measure B" has been passed , now the comments are flowing in....

The reality that a majority of Los Angeles County voters had decided in favor of "Measure B" is hitting home. The industry players are making their views known.

Check out AVN :thumbsup

Dont be afraid to voice your own opinion on this. Can this be overturned next time around ??

?I knew it would pass," said Hustler publisher Larry Flynt. We will continue to shoot in Mexico, the desert, Hawaii, etc., with no additional expenses, because, instead of shooting one or two girls a week, we?ll shoot a dozen.
Don't hear Larry fear mongering. He is building windmills. Everyone else can kick rocks.

Dan "Porno Dan" Leal of Immoral Productions, told AVN, "The fact remains that production of adult films is only legal in two states, California and New Hampshire. This law only applies to Los Angeles, which leaves countless municipalities within the state of California where this law does not apply and where we would be welcome."
Bingo. Well said Dan. :thumbsup

Wonder how long before they decide to do the same in other states

Only if it goes on the ballot again.

Can you pass a law to make it safer to snort cocaine even though cocaine possession and use is illegal? Because that is essentially what they would be doing.

I would like for an attorney to step in here to clarify, but I would think porn production would already have to be legal in a state before a law could be passed to govern the safety of those making porn. And as it stands right now, while porn is tolerated in some states, it is technically only legal in two. So unless passing such a law would in fact legalize porn production in a state, I don't see it happening. How could they enforce it if the act itself is illegal?

tony286 11-07-2012 06:48 PM

It's legal in those two states but its more grey than illegal in the other states. States don't want to make it an issue because if they take it to trial there is chance they can lose and then it's very cut and dry. Most prefer grey.

This isn't towards you BD, but just pointing out how incompetent they really are.

This is what one of their latest tweets says:

Quote:

It's just sad that most people have no idea what the bill was really about. - @FSCArmy
Call me crazy, but if they were trying to get the support of the people to vote against Measure B, who's job was it to educate "most people" what the bill was really about? Logic would say they would get the word out so that everyone would know what the bill was about.

What they are saying is, they completely failed and didn't know what to do in the first place. As usual. And now they are blaming it on the lack of information "most people" had, rather than take responsibility for their failure. They should have said something along the lines of, "We simply couldn't reach enough people in time to educate them all on Measure B."

Then to make matters worse, you have dumb porn whores saying things like this, saying they are going to break the law, and the FSC retweets it, which is them showing support for more reckless behavior:

Quote:

I will continue to exercise my right to free speech, not using condoms in adult films. My life. My holes. - Dana DeArmond
They are about to fight the bill after it was passed, and these dumb whores are talking publicly about how they are going to break the law and not use condoms, because it is "her hole." Then the FSC supports that comment. Brilliant.

You idiots really do get what you deserve. :2 cents:

Quote:

Now is the time 4 industry 2 unite & move forward JOIN US - @FSCArmy
Yea, right. NOW you're going to get the job done. :1orglaugh

DWB - You think a lot of the people that voted in favor of Measure B follow FSCArmy and "dumb porn whores" on Twitter?

Never crossed my mind.

You just made his point for him. FSC has no clue how to communicate with the general public.

adultmobile 11-08-2012 09:53 AM

What if a boy+girl cam account of couple living in that county (same juristiction LA) does a show live without condom for example in chaturbate or cam4 (my cam sites got no boys I just ask for curiosity), I mean is that 2 private people in their home can do sex without condom AND broadcast it for free in cams OR this is a studio company being paid for porn production and so can NO MORE do sex without condom if they have a cam open?

ajrocks 11-08-2012 12:08 PM

Start shooting in Porno North! Canada loves porn without condoms!

In all fairness, if they blamed the messenger for not effectively communicating the message, they'd be out of a job.

RubyGoodnight 11-08-2012 12:30 PM

I was chatting about this with someone on twitter today. They live in LA County and votes Yes. He didn't have a clue how it actually worked. He thought it was a state-wide referendum, and didn't understand the concept of the fact that even parts of LA county aren't covered by this as they don't fall under the health board's jurisdiction. He is also convinced that starting January 1st, any porn shot in LA will need to follow this law.

His justification for voting yes was that "porn stars need to be role models". I just about spat out my coffee when I read that.

Someone dropped the ball big time on educating the public on this.

Just an observation but it seems to me that GFY seem to be more galvanized about "freeing paul markham" than they were about defeating measure B.

Maybe the FSC can hold a fundraiser for this cause too?

How would you educate 4.5 million potential voters when your industry's members wouldn't raise the funds necessary for a major campaign?

The list of contributors was rather short given the implications of Measure B.

I find it odd that those who criticize the most the effort to get the word out are the last to donate, if at all.

To those few who donated, you guys put up a good fight. Thank you for your generosity and allegiance to your industry. I do appreciate your efforts.

Just my opinion.:pimp

Why is it that all the 1/2 retarded messengers never blame themselves in this biz?

Leadership is leadership. People follow leaders. It's human nature. It's not a tough thing to grasp and it's universal.

The list of contributors was short because they either didn't agree with the message or didn't have much faith in the messenger. That's how it works.

... no fear, just knowledge.

BlackAndBlue 11-12-2012 03:20 PM

If money was the only thing that mattered in the fight against Measure B, I might agree. It wasn't. It was the people giving out the message that insisted on filling it with mish mashed claims that negated each other, lies and half truths, people that never have understood how politics works and for some reason have such big egos that they truly think people care about "porners" and want adult products shoved int their faces. And I still say all the money spent on that stupid "porn bus" actually went to waste, as it pissed more voters off, than it brought voters to the industry's side of the measure.

I actually liked some of the things that Sue Burnside, from the No On Government Waste camp had to say at the Manwin Summit . . . especially the part where this industry has to stop using the word PORN and stick with adult ENTERTAINMENT industry, show non-porn folks how these types of political campaigns actually affect them, 'cause they could give a crap about those in the industry, and above all I liked how she politely told the Manwin Speech Coalition that they obviously don't know a damn thing about how politics works, and should stop playing a game they do not know the rules of.

IMO - too many people involved with the Manwin Speech Coalition live in some fantasy world that can't support reality. It doesn't matter how much money is thrown at them, until that changes it's all wasted money. AT this point, I have a feeling even Fabian (if he was truthful for once in his adult career) would agree on that with me. LOL

Again more reasons to attend the party at Kink.com instead of hanging out for a fund raiser with 20 or so self anointed "movers and shakers" that nobody knows or cares about.

There are just a lot of freeloaders in this business that want others to do their "heavy lifting". They have always been around.

Many of the freeloaders pretend to be critics of those who do give a shit and try to do something about the situation in order to justify their shirking.:disgust

Sad situation.
