Rahm Emanuel: Obama will Executive Order his way through the next 2-4 years

Go figure. He's going to do what he wants to do and that's it.

Sam - Mr. Skin 11-07-2012 03:19 PM

I sure hope so.

So you prefer a dictatorship eh?

Sam - Mr. Skin 11-07-2012 03:24 PM

When I agree with the dictator on most issues yes, I would personally prefer that...haha. Specifically when the alternative is a partisan pissing contest to keep "the opponent" from accomplishing anything out of hatred and spite. But it's not a dictatorship, it's how the government was set up. The people mandated another term, so they obviously favor his policies. Let the executive orders roll if that's what it's going to come to.

Still game for Executive Order fun?

CDSmith 11-07-2012 03:27 PM

Interesting. So when a Republican wins a 2nd term and does it (andthey have) it's just the way things work in government, but if this guy does it it's a dictatorship?

Yes, very interesting.

Executive orders is not how our government was set up. You may need to go back and do a history lesson. It was set up so there wouldn't be a dictatorship.

Barry-xlovecam 11-07-2012 03:28 PM

House Speaker John Boehner could always decide to negotiate in good faith -- he hasn't yet.

You reap what you sow.

No one Republican, Democrat, or whatever should be running our government by Executive Order.

Exactly. They don't want to hear this though, they want to argue endlessly about Dems and Repubs...

Boehner is asking for less spending and tax reduction. What's wrong with that? You like the government spending more than the average income per year and putting it on a credit card for your kids to pay? At the rate he;s going by the time Obama leaves office he will have more than doubled the national debt.

I was on the wrong side of that, but I can accept what was voted (assuming votes were counted properly that is).

Seems to me like the best way to get shit down.

The system was set up with checks and balances. These days that's system is used to block everything.

I'm assuming you meant get shit "done." You think sidestepping congress and writing your own laws is the best way to get shit done?

Man, these are scary times we live in...

What exactly needs to be "done" anyways? You really want some individual sitting in DC writing a bunch of new laws? Laws for what? Don't we have enough laws already?

Boehner's stated goal was to make Obama a one term president -- he failed.

More talking points and rhetoric ...

The checks and balances are intended to block almost everything. Only the most important and agreeable things are what's supposed to pass. Horse trading, insider trading, all the bullshit that goes on is ridiculous and has been done so that Congress can go back and lie to their voters and say... Look what I got for you!!!! The size of the government was never imagined nor intended.

The checks and balances are supposed to make it hard. Executive Order is dictatorship, plain and simple. Just because you agree with the dictator can change really easily.

You've been wrong on just about everything, from your candidate to your comment after the election that it was going to be decided in the courts, so now you're just going to spew bullshit for another 4 years.

tony286 11-07-2012 04:09 PM

If it would have been left to Florida it would have been. Have they even got the votes counted yet? The status quo is terrified of my candidate and as usual they did everything they could to knock him out of the race. If it had been RP instead of the establishment pick of douche bag Romney everyone would be singing a different tune today bet that. It would have been great to see him send all of Washington home with their last pay check come January.

None of the two puppets chosen by the establishment is going to change any of that. So I guess we have to get use to dictatorships with the fake appearance of democracy.

He was being interviewed on CNN or Fox don't remember which. He came right out of the box saying it. The hosts question "How will Obama maneuver around a Republican led Congress again?" I cracked a joke to my girlfriend just before he started speaking saying "Executive Order" and those were the first words out of his mouth and the remainder of the interview went on with Rahm explaining how it was such a good thing.

So then . . . would you prefer that the government does absolutely nothing until after the next round of congressional elections two long years from now?

Of course, that's exactly what these two tools want.

Actually, that was senate minority leader Mitch McConnell, but boehner certainly went along with the program.

Matt 26z 11-07-2012 10:02 PM

The Republicans will have the opportunity to come to the table and compromise, something they've refused to do since taking the House in 2010. If they continue to refuse to negotiate in hopes that 4 more years of gridlock will get their guy elected in 2016, then Obama doesn't have many choices left for the good of the country.

The Republicans are always for less spending and tax reduction, until one of their guys gets into office. Then the Republicans SPEND SPEND SPEND and set up tax reduction schemes that involve taking out loans from China to pay for the reductions.

I hope there's gridlock for another 4 years because I'm terrified of what Obama would do without it. All Obama supporters go on and on about Bush (who was a tool) all the while ignoring the fact he's been just as bad if not worse on American liberties. I can't wait until 2014 when he puts his new 15-20,000 new IRS agents to work on those that voted for him. Hell it's already started, they are trying to audit me and I'm very small potato's. But hey I guess they have to pay for the 2 trillion deficit a year and those new 14 million on food stamps some how.

GAMEFINEST 11-07-2012 10:18 PM

Boehner is fucked

Maybe, I attributed it to the wrong player, thinking back it may have been McConnell -- two peas in a pod. Funny thing, they are now discussing some '' good faith negotiations'' or maybe just more posturing and sabre rattling ...

Ideally, using executive orders is not a good thing but in the face of further gridlock and gamesmanship it may the only alternative.

Maybe, there is some compromise to be made on the tax burden but there is a ever narrowing window here. Kicking the decisions six months down the road is not helpful to anyone's planing -- it only extends uncertainty.

more of that endless republican whining.

"when we do it, it's gods will and for freedom; but when when you do it it's kenyan socialism, booo hooo hooo".

The logic of babies and whining bitches.

I hope he does do it, you teabaggers are betraying the whole country by destroying the proper functions of congress, you need to be slapped like the whining bitches you are.

If he does it his popularity will skyrocket.

Destroying the proper functions of government? LMAO. Your guy wants to BYPASS the proper functions and you say teapartiers are destroying it? BTW I'm not a part of the Republican co-opted tea party. You see that's the group you seem so angry with. I don't care much for them either. Because just like the real Republicans and Democrats it's a front. And all three I agree are destroying the proper functions of government.

I hope he does it too because you can bet your ass his popularity won't skyrocket. In fact the next elections are after his new healthcare plan goes into effect. What do you want to bet that after millions of Americans get slapped with a new tax bill there's a Republican (but hopefully 3rd party) sweep that year and not only will he not have Congress but also lose the Senate. After all his largest base are those who can't afford insurance so they will be the one's hit with his fines and the people all those new IRS agents are for. You can bet he isn't hiring them for big business.
