Help with flash banner videos

Are you referencing your video externally, or embedding it into the banner? How are you preparing the video (format, bit rate)? I can't seem to get it down to a file size I'm happy with.

I can't find anything solid. I can get them made, but I'm thinking there is a better way to do it to reduce the file size. And one thing I'm not sure of is, if everyone is referencing their videos or embedding them into the file.

referencing externally, and making flvs smaller than 1 mb, make size 320x240

Have you tried referencing an mp4 instead of flv? I can squeeze the hell out of an mp4 and still have it look real nice. My flvs look like crap.

yes just tested mp4 , works as well.
