Chosen 11-06-2012 11:31 AM

Scott McD 11-06-2012 11:37 AM

I use a Mac and use Adium and it sucks ass. I have started to refuse to talk to people unless they add me to skype lol

Chosen 11-06-2012 11:42 AM

I've said it before and I'm saying it again: Skype sucks as IM.
Jabber is better.

baddog 11-06-2012 11:57 AM

resource hog, not going to happen

SmutHammer 11-06-2012 11:59 AM

Not interested in adding another messenger program.

CyberHustler 11-06-2012 12:00 PM

Am I the only one that loves a simple email? I hate icq, but had to start using it again because everybody is stuck on it.

TheSenator 11-06-2012 12:02 PM

Uggg.... ICQ is for adults.

Skype is for hipsters.

stephane76 11-06-2012 12:05 PM

I 've been using both, icq is being shitty lately

We use Jabber for our in house communications, I like it.

To only talk to those on Skype seems a bit silly, especially if you are in a sales position. Why not use all the messengers?

I have Skype going, then Adium which pulls in my ICQ, AIM and Jabber.

I'm with you here. I prefer Skype but I'll deal with ICQ if it's the only way to get through to someone.

This. I only hop onto ICQ if someone needs me, or I need to get a hold of someone immediately.

E-mail is what I prefer by far.

2MuchMark 11-06-2012 12:42 PM

SKype is great. ICQ is crap. If you must use ICQ use a different client such as Adium. It keeps you connected with ICQ and MSN friends but without all the ads and extra weight.

loreen 11-06-2012 12:44 PM

I prefer mail. ICQ is ok, some clients want a live chat.
Never using Skype for business, everyone assumes you are free to talk / phone chat and I don't have the time for that.

TheLegacy 11-06-2012 12:46 PM

North American webmasters generally use ICQ while foreign skype. The change is slow but it was the foundation of communication - so it will take another few years before the rest migrate over

HomerSimpson 11-06-2012 01:23 PM

Replace ICQ with Trillian... It stable, uses less memory and has pretty cool options... I have been using it for years now without any problems...

lol has nothing to do with stupidity, it's a matter of context and usability.
Of course you're not going to use 'lol' in a PhD thesis but on GFY is more than fine.

scarlettcontent 11-07-2012 04:55 AM

switched to skype years ago , scarlettcontent

bbobby86 11-07-2012 04:57 AM

you have my vote...

ajrocks 11-07-2012 08:02 AM

Don't be an ICQ hater, at least you can search your history.... Skype sucks for following up on older messages.

mineistaken 11-07-2012 08:06 AM

icq is good for me (has glitches from time to time, but all in all good).

baddog, what do you mean resource hog? I mean compared to icq

Horny Dude 11-07-2012 08:16 AM

Is the adult industry keeping ICQ alive? I don't think anyone else uses ICQ unless they're an adult webmaster.

I have to agree with you on the Skype search. Meh.

You think there are millions of adult webmasters in the world?

alex.missyouth 11-07-2012 10:34 AM

ICQ is good and does what it's meant to do. No need to switch to any other IM program for this biz.
