That is some retarded shit and the weakest attempt at making a point I have ever seen. Congrats Suzy American, you are dumbfuck.

How about I list every Christian atrocity of the last 2000 years? And then proclaim we should boycott Jesus, the founder of many a Christian terrorist group. Would that make me clever or a fucking idiot?

I'm curious, has there ever (lets say in the last 15 years) been a stamp that commemorates christianity?

You ever seen a fucking Christmas, Hanukkah and or Kwanzaa stamp? I have.

Thomas N 02-16-2003 04:04 PM

I looked on the USPS website to try and find some info on this. I don't have all day to look around, but the little bit of time I did spend, I couldn't find any info on this. I did find a list of their upcoming new release stamps and I saw nothing related to muslims on it. Can you provide a link showing this is true and not just some hoax?

Christmas stamps do not commemorate christianity any more than a christmas tree does, or Santa clause in a mall does, or any of the other modern christmas traditions do. Modern day christmas for the world has nothing to do with christianity, people of countless non-christian faiths celebrate christmas.

Christmas has LONG since ceased to be a religious event for the majority of the world.

So as I said, is there a stamp to commemorate christianity? Or buddhism? Just curious if USPS is endorsing only Islam, or multiple religions. Or as I said in my previous post, is this just a hoax perhaps.

steffie 02-16-2003 04:09 PM

I got this in the email from a friend of mine, so I figured it be quite interesting in posting it here.

Personally I don't buy any kind of stamps with religious symbols or meaning on them christmas, easter,or otherwise. Since I mail overseas a lot and to friends who are non-believers. etc

Right now I have

"Ogden Nash" for my stamps

I haven't seen anything about it on USPS either regarding this. So, hey it might not be true, don't believe everything people send you in their email

xoxox

So I suppose the Hanukkah stamps I can buy at Christmas do not imply a relationship with Judaism?

That's an interesting read. Basically it is commemorating muslim holidays, which I guess would be about equivalent to the Happy Kwanza, Happy Hannakuh, or Merry Christmas stamps.

Still I won't accept any muslim stamps when I goto get my postage. Way too much support for terrorism comes from the muslim sector for me to have anything to do with it.

The email listed things in the last decade, how about you start there?

There is also a lot of support for Israel from the jewish community. But hey, I stick with my Love Stamps and my Literatur Stamps

Anyway you look at it, its a mess right now in the USA. Economy is way way down and Bush needs a war in order to get himself out of that hole he dug.

With or without the citizens permission we will go to war.

Thomas N 02-16-2003 04:20 PM

Well the problem is that the person who originally posted this, took one word out to make it more inflammatory:

"REMEMBERS and HONORS the MUSLIM with a commemorative first class postage stamp. "

When on the USPS website it says "remembers and honors the muslim HOLIDAYS".

There's a huge difference in my opinion. The former seems to imply that the USPS was almost endorsing Islam, which is why I asked if they had endorsed any other religions. Leaving the word "holiday" out was obviously done to make it sound much worse than it is.

When you see the actual news release, and that it is commemorating muslim HOLIDYAS and not the muslim religion, then it puts it in perspective and on the same level with stamps that commerate other holidays. IMHO.

Every Klan act of the last 100 years alone could be listed and fill up pages.

Pull your head out of your ass and stick a book in front of it.
