Gas is Cheap

What's your prices looking like? Here in NC they have come down to $3.22 for regular.

shake 11-01-2012 12:21 PM

$1.10 (L) on the west coast of Canada, which is cheaper than it's been for a few months.

From what I can Google it's about $9? With about 70% of that being tax?

It dipped down under 2 bucks around the last election but was 4 bucks before that.

It's currently $3.18 a gallon here in Minneapolis.

Aric 11-01-2012 05:01 PM

That's the plan... jack up prices (with record profits) so much that you think still ridiculous prices are "cheap". :Oh crap

I moved to Florida from NY in 1997. It was $.69. That was the lowest I had ever seen it. NY was probably under $1.20 at that point.

It's $3.85 here. Fluctuates between this and $3.99 pretty consistently.

LamboSV 11-01-2012 06:05 PM

Over here in Montreal, Quebec it is averaging around $1.40-$1.43 a LITRE

AllAboutCams 11-01-2012 06:22 PM

$1.50 LT yesterday

Western Australia

Hah! We Californians laugh at the averages these news channels always put up.

Our gas is 4.79 per gallon for 91 octane. Hasn't been below 4.50 for over 2 years where I live.

Tofu 11-01-2012 06:50 PM

Unleaded in Northern California is about $3.89 for most chains.

At arco in the ghetto, I saw $3.67. I was going to fill up there but, the pumps
were packed like sardines. A good 15 minutes wait, per car.

Fuck that.

It was 75 cents a gallon in South Carolina in the late 1990's. I was putting racing fuel in my MG back then for 90 cents a gallon in 1999.

It was still pretty cheap up until the last few years, Couldn't find a historical graph for South Carolina (where I used to live) but here's one for North Carolina for the last decade or so which had similar prices:

http://66.70.86.64/ChartServer/ch.ga...&Unit=US%20$/G

It didn't hit $2 a gallon until 2005

Transit taxes are lower as we're not paying for the sky-train over here.
