I need help! (video tape question)
 

My dog got a hold to last nights shoot. He thought it was very tasty. :(
Besides the fact I'm out of a lot of cash, does anyone know where and IF this thing may be salvagable?

It's Digital Mini DV?

Nope. I don't know the answer to that. But in a sad way that's pretty funny. My dog really did that to my homework assignement disk from school.. my teacher didn't believe me.

Take a new tape cartridge apart and if the spools from the chewed one aren't usable, you'll have to wind the old tape onto the spools from the one you take apart... Use NEW cotton gloves to handle the tape.

I'd not be sure if the dawg demagnitized the content tape. But you'll find out soon enough. Just don't wind it too tightly... and run it thru the vcr front to back several times to allow the deck to set the tensions. The hubby has fixed a few of ours that way.

I have repaired several VHS tapes that way but this Mini DV tape is very small. I wouldnt mind sending this off to someone to repair. I just don't know who or where.

Check with some camera shops then... odds are they'll know someone to send you too. :)
