I can tell you exactly what is going to happen.. This is what happens every storm I've been in up here.

It gets a little breezy the day before the storm and a tree falls over then power is out the next 5 days. I swear to god I've never seen the power go out with such a small amount of wind as it does here in New England area.

Back in FL, used to have 40-50 MPH winds and my power would barely even flicker.. Internet would stay on, cable TV ect..ect..

On the odd chance that power did go out in FL, it was always back usually the same day or at worst case 1 to 2 days.

You would see FPL & the tree trimming trucks staged the day before the storm hit in empty parking lots, because they didn't wait till afterwards to get their crews on the scene. They put them in place before the storm hit.

New England is a whole different animal as I've known people up here that have been out of power for up to two weeks because of a storm.

The last one we had up here my power went out before the storm even hit and was out 5 days.

yea, everyone stay safe. ppl around here had no power for 5-6 days in some areas. There was a run on batteries and generators the last few days. Alot of the towns around me have been putting in new drains on the streets hoping to prevent a replay of last year.

The wind and rain might not be the worst of it. They're saying some of the northeast states and Great Lakes area may even see a crapload of s...s...snow.

We're ready here in Niagara. Generator in the garage ready to go...beer in the fridge. :thumbsup

We didn't get hit too bad in NC this time.

You really think its going to reach Niagara ?

Ha I called this shit.. I swear to god the storm wasn't even here yet and my fucking power went out yesterday at like 3PM or somewhere around there.

Amazingly, though it was back on by 9PM so it was likely the shortest lived power outage for any storm I've been in up here.

Hope everyone in NYC & Nj is ok, they were showing a lot of damage there. The storm for the most part skirted around us, so it's nothing more than a random tree here or there with a few street lights out here in my area of MA.

I agree, since i moved to Maine i have had 28 power outages in an 18 month period. Central Maine Power is a joke refusing to put new power-lines underground, they would rather make consumers wait days for repair's.
Fuck i lived in San Diego for 16 years and only had 2 outages despite all the earthquakes and fires we had. I lived in Malaysia for two years, a third world country and never experienced an outage. :error

I live in central PA, and other than some annoying wind, and a steady rain, we didn't get shit. I didn't even see any heavy downpours (and I was up most of the night taking my fucking dogs out), and the wind, at least where I'm at, wasn't anything that I haven't seen occur in the middle of winter.

As for power outages...I'm looking at my local news' website, and it seems 70,000+ are out of power near me, but my power went out for about 2 seconds last night around 7:45pm.

Right now, it's cool out and a bit breezy, but it's not even raining.

Glad I didn't waste my time stocking up on milk and bread....
