Yes, they would eliminate many issues associated with sitting, while greatly reducing the stresses associated with standing.
If I were in the furniture biz I would definitely be working on many prototypes right now. Different ideas for assorted industries, like for commercial planes for example, they would open up more space, and virtually eliminating deep vein thrombosis. Or for more efficient busses, etc.
It wasn't intended to be a joke thread - I really think it's a futuristic idea. They already have standing desks, but no one likes standing on their own volition for long periods of time.
