Malware attack

Can anyone give any advice on stopping Malware attacks?

Is it something the hosting company should take care of?

I think you need to give some more details.

A good hosting company should be able to take care of that.

Its in their hands as I write, but as this has happened before, I wanted to know if there are any measures we can take to stop it happening...

Yup, but they should be able to help you anyway. I know my host would.

Could you explain what you mean by script issue?

wehateporn 10-25-2012 05:48 AM

I had a virus on my site many years ago, it was actually on the shared hosting and would spread to every site there. My hosting company had to deal with it.

Unfortunately they didn't have recent backups, so suddenly I got moved back in time 6 months. Just lucky I'd taken my own backups a week before :)

Check all the scripts you have running on the server.. upto date etc.

TheSenator 10-25-2012 06:04 AM

What CMS are you running?

Cherry7 10-25-2012 08:19 AM

Sadly, I do not know to what scripts you refer, or what is CMS.

I do have our whole site backed up and am spending a wasted day uploading alll our host galleries as it was those that were attacked.

It is very depressing the slippery pole managing a paysite is, our hard drive crashed two months ago, have been hacked twice etc...
