whats an MCI device?

i got some weird error saying something about no open MCI device when using asf tools to cut a wmv file. never seen that before

did you try rebooting? somehow you have something running in the background like a CD player or other multi media thing thats causing this

tried rebooting, i had winamp running and thats what i thought it might be. but it happened again with nothing running and its only happens to one file out of a dozen that i cut up.
