skype vs. icq lol
 

Call me oldschool but I haven't used skype that much until recently. I login today and see, "27,827,178 people online". I presume this is a popular platform? lol

I use Skype more than ICQ now. Plus it's nice to be able to video chat with the family. :)

don't use skype. I have enough programs running.

I use Skype but had some big problems after installing it, WAMP went to hell on this computer and any localhost development wasn't possible (server side testing that is as Skype and Wamp shared a port). I didn't feel like hacking away at it so just restored a recent backup image.

Skype FTW though.

For the most part, I use ICQ...I have skype as another method for people to contact me, but only for text/chat, not video.

I've been using Skype as my main source of IM for over a yr, but I have so many contacts on ICQ that aren't on Skype, I have contacts on ICQ from a decade ago in this bizz.

I use both. I don't like how easy it is to accidentally chat to the wrong person on Skype. But most of my models are using skype these days. Mainly use ICQ to chat with ppl from GFY...wish it still had the old school keystroke sounds though...I miss that about as much as I miss Sub7 ;)

Skype sucks.

Had the same problem. Close Skype, start up WAMP, open Skype. Everything then works fine.

No idea why or how, but it works. :)

I have problem with my motorola skype phone. It worked until recently, and you need to allow ice.exe to use skype (software for communication between phone and skype), but it won't work anymore even if access is allowed. Anyone with this problem?
