#NONSENSE: Google: Sites With Too Many Takedown Notices Will Rank Lower

I have a google alert set for my band...

Yesterday, Google emailed me 3 new places I could illegally download my own albums from known piracy sites...

Wheren't the going to do something about this?

Itunes is illegal where you live?

The problem is when people send DMCA notices they send them to the site, host, registrar, etc but often never think to also send them to Google. I'm still taking a wait and see approach on that algorithm change...

Yeah, you have to send SERP removals to google. There is a lot of room for abuse there amonst competitors, but google knows who the damn Pirate Bay is

Google has not made the process easy. Should simply be able to cc them on the email.

That's putting it mildly.

The fact that Google has no interest whatsoever in copyright enforcement is demonstrated unequivocally by their fucked up DMCA process.

The hoops that Google makes you jump through to file a DMCA notice remind me very much of the roadside sobriety tests that cops administer.
