Im reading this book right now and the dude has a pretty sweet shelter.
http://www.amazon.com/The-Remaining-ebook/dp/B0070B0JW6 About 10 years ago I thought about putting one in my backyard so I could hang out and drink beer in it. Instead I spent the money building a pimp ice house for ice fishing. |
That's pretty cool. I'd love to have one of those in the backyard.
My 90 or so year old neighbor died just after Christmas of last year. The house is still empty because she owed some back taxes and her family has been dicking around with the city and county. At last I heard the bank has the house and they're dumping it. I spoke with the realtor at one point and he said that 15 feet under the basement is a fully stocked, as if it was the 60s, fallout shelter that could house 4 comfortably. I have yet to get inside and see it, but the house can be had for less than what they want for this. |

Do you get it now? You created this imaginary context that never existed. |
60k?
You can build one yourself much cheaper if you don't have two left hands |
That would be an AWESOME tornado shelter assuming you had enough warning to get inside of it, and you lived in an area that had tornadoes.
|
from a temp stand point it would be easy to keep it comfortable and no noisy neighbors lol
|
I'd head down into the bunker office to get some work done.

Being prepared is intelligent, talking shit against being prepared is ignorant.
What happens when you get caught with your pants down and no where to go? What then? |

Two things that always sell is "Fear" and "Fantasy".
|
lol no way will they ever bury that thing 20 ft deep in FL. It would be full of water if they did.
When I was younger, I actually found a old Cuban missile crisis bunker in the woods close to the Melbourne airport in FL when I used to live there. It was more like the typical ammo dump set up like the Military uses to store ammo, but was halfway underground with dirt on all sides except the entry point. No idea if the thing is still there today, but was a pretty cool find back then. btw if you want to build a shelter just use a cargo container. They are dirt cheap and there are already tons of plans on converting them to cheap housing. Just convert one and toss it in a hole.. You can save money while you worry about the world ending. |
When shit hit the fan what you gonna do?
Whatever you do you will do it with style: Sit back and watch your flat screen while drinking a cold beer that came from that cool bunker refrigerator and if the bad guys get in you just run for your life and escape through the ESCAPE HATCH ... :1orglaugh |
