I used to work for phillips.com and so many people emailed about their TVs and other things.

Edit: when I worked there a venture fund bought the business... guess they sold the domain... used to be one of the largest newsletter publishers.

Kelli58 10-16-2012 03:55 PM

I don't know about what they were charging in 1987 but in 1996 they were $35 per domain, per year.

BSleazy 10-16-2012 04:20 PM

I can't really remember but in the early 2000's I think they were around $60 or more.

bluebook18 10-16-2012 04:21 PM

No they for sure weren't $200 in 1996 because I regged my first collection of domains back then and they were $35.

I regged KlubKelli.com then all4u.com and a whole bunch more. 100% for sure, $35 a piece

I don't think that list is the oldest 100 domains ever registered, but the oldest 100 registered names. I suspect there are names that are unregistered now that were registered before many of the names on that list.

xXXtesy10 10-16-2012 10:26 PM

where the hell is paulmarkhamteens.com? what bullshit.

Yeah domains were $35 in 1997 when I registered my first domains.

A few years later they doubled the price to $70
