Is building your own tours worth the time?

Anyone had better results with building custom tours on their blog or sites to keep the traffic and sending from their own tour to the join pages?

Been contemplating trying this out...

anyone doing it at all? :)

Depends on the amount of traffic you get and the time you need for break-even.

Sometimes.

not much traffic but i could prob build one out in one night. Just trying to determine if worth doing or not. Could send maybe between 1-10k a month unique to one program depending on the program.

You could probably do it in one night, but what do you know about converting traffic? Not to say many sponsors really have great tours, most just let the designers rip, who don't know jack shit about selling. So realistically you need more than one tour, so you can split test between them. But sure, if your sponsor currently converts 1:2000 and your tour can bring that down to say 1:500, that would mean you making 4x more from the same traffic. Depending on how much you invest in creating the new tour(s) and the amount of traffic you send to that sponsor, it could well be worth it.

True, now you've got me thinking its alot more work. Maybe would be best to focus on getting more traffic instead....

Funny, that's usually what everyone thinks. If you throw shit against the wall and 1% sticks, then throw more shit against the wall in order to get more to stick. :1orglaugh

Eventually all that shit gets too heavy for you to lift.

LOL, considering in the big picture I suck at making money online maybe I should just stick to what has been working a little bit and just keep trying there. It's rather sad when an extra couple hundred bucks a week is alot when you have some ppl on here likely making 20k to my $200 bucks lol

Custom tours (as long as they aren't terrible) are a great way to go. Especially if you know the niche better than the sponsor. There's some sponsors that have good content, but don't know jack shit about their niche since they didn't shoot, or even like the content. On their tours they bad mouth their own niche or have a static/stale tour with content from 5 years ago when they've been making new content throughout.

In those instances making your own tour might make a dramatic difference. If you can make the tour yourself there's nothing to lose but a little time. If having to hire a designer then you have to balance the cost vs. estimated effectiveness.

What you really need to do is re-train your brain to look at things from a more strategic perspective. Seriously.

My suggestion is to stop everything that you're doing in adult for 2-3 months and go sign up for some private chess lessons. During that time off, commit to playing as much chess as possible. Preferably in person so as you can also watch as your opponents make their moves. And when you're not playing the game, you need to study the game. Try to emphasize on opening theory and tactics. When you come back after that 2-3 months you'll likely view things from a different, more strategic perspective.

You know there are a lot of things that you don't know and you want to learn those things. Both good traits. Many people are content in thinking they know everything and in the process they learn nothing. In the long run, you'll be better off than those with such a mindset. You just need to touch up on the whole strategy thing. Good luck. Here's a good place to start.

If you can built one in 1 night just try it. Testing is still worth much more than another GFYer's opinion :2 cents:

Absolutely. Not to mention the amount of "experts" on here, who chime in on anything and everything. You know, like me. :1orglaugh
