When I'm downloading a CF card full of DSLR footage, is it the CF card that dictates how fast the download happens or is it the computer that I have the card reader attached to or is it the USB software?

Sometimes on our shoots we are shooting three DSLR cameras at the same time...and each card can take 15 to 20 minutes to download. I would like to find a way to increase the download speed and not sure where to start :Oh crap

the slowest dictates, get a fast card, they are expensive.
