epassporte?

I haven't gotten one yet.. but I don't really see the point.
unless.. can I directly put funds from paypal to epassporte account? If not.. what's the point? I can just use my regular CC. Now, if I could just put money from paypal directly to epassporte it would rock.. I wouldn't have to wait that fucking week to get paypal money on my bankaccount...

So, can I do this?

Kimmykim 02-15-2003 08:31 AM

You can use your Paypal Mastercard to buy into epassporte if you like, on a personal account, but no you cannot transfer funds from one to the other any other way. If you have a commercial account you can wire money onto your account any time you like also.

Soon enough you'll be able to do ACH transfers onto the epassporte and there are some other neat fund loading methods in the works.

One of the biggest advantages to epassporte is that you don't have to have a credit card in order to get the Visa cards associated with the system -- and so far as I know you cannot get the Paypal cards unless you have a valid cc, or debit card, regardless of how the money was put onto your Paypal account. There is no time restriction to getting the Visa card with epassporte, whereas with Paypal in addition to having a valid check or debit card you also have to wait for 60 days before they will issue you the debit card.

With epassporte if a sponsor or someone puts money on your account you can access it immediately either online with the virtual number or as quickly as you can get to the ATM or a POS terminal with a pin code pad.

epassporte also works for countries that Paypal disallows... I can literally put money on account for anyone, anywhere, and they can then either spend it online or retrieve it from an ATM if they have the plastic card.

I would use epassporte if other CC Processors like CCBill were able to payout to it.

I can't have the card. I'm from yurop.

Ok.. can I accept payments TO the epassporte..lets say from my designs site? How does that work. I'm trying to ponder here if it's worth getting the account. :)

Yes you can, just tell your customer to send the amount to your epassporte email address. At present both you and your client need an epassporte account.

No huge surprise there.. so it's very very close to paypal, right?

Kimmykim 02-15-2003 08:53 AM

Brown Bear, I believe that CCBill and quite a few sponsors will be integrating epassporte over the next month or so.

TGF -- people pay you with epassporte in a very similar manner to Paypal - you have a user name, which also gives you an email address @epassporte.com as well -- if I wanted to send you money, say I am kimmykim (well since I am), I would send money to your username, say it's teengodfather. The money is instantly there for you to use either by transferring it to other epassporte users or by purchasing something with the virtual Visa number. There have already been transactions where users have purchased airline tickets, books from Amazon, etc.

Now, if you have gotten the plastic Visa card with your account -- there are two levels of accounting here -- you can also get your cash from the ATM or pay at any PIN pad POS terminal -- like the gas station, the grocery store, etc.

You can also set up a commercial account with epassporte if you want to accept the transfers automatically, like with a shopping cart mechanism, but that is an entirely different functionality of the system. One advantage to epassporte versus Paypal if you are a merchant is that epassporte does NOT freeze your account if you get one chargeback or dispute. epassporte also does not freeze your ability to get money out of the commercial account if you start off with a lot of transactions and move money quickly, as Paypal will do :(

The other really nice thing about using epassporte to get paid by sponsors is the fact that you won't have to wait on a check, pay a wire or a fedex fee, and your bank won't be charging you to cash checks from the states when you are non-US.

Jakke PNG 02-15-2003 08:55 AM

I guess it won't hurt to get an account then.

Kimmykim 02-15-2003 08:58 AM

Not at all TGF... there will be some more neat things coming out from epassporte once there is a bit more integration, figure maybe a month and a half :)

I tried to get epassporte when it was introduced... using my clean Visa... but got denied. I asked from their customer service about that and got reply: Please try again with another cc. Great - that was the end of my adventures with epassporte. Still wondering if the problem was that I'm from Eu.

nice idea, but if it doesnīt work fine globally - which I understood - was the idea... it looses a lot of potential.

Jakke PNG 02-15-2003 09:11 AM

I just signed up with my mastercard without any problem.

Hmmm, that is odd, it should work no problem unless your bank declined the transaction. There is fraud scrubbing in the system but it's a completely different type of transaction than adult for instance so it should go thru much easier.

I'm from the EU as well and had no problems at all. Also, a few guys from Eastern Europe opened an account with epassporte so that they could join StatsRemote and then either paid with their virtual visa or p2p...

brutus 02-15-2003 09:27 AM

Ok, maybe I should try again.

I don't remember if CVV2 number is required, however
the card I tried have CVV2, but my another CC doesn't have it.

Anyway, I will try again - let's see what happens - the idea behind epassporte is great.

Kimmykim 02-15-2003 09:28 AM

Hmmm, that may be the issue, the cvv2

Kimmykim 02-15-2003 04:06 PM

brutus, did you try again?

Theo 02-15-2003 04:10 PM

Kimmykim when spotbrokers gonna activate epassporte option?

Michael O 02-15-2003 04:21 PM

ARS is going to make payouts availible to epassporte in a couple of weeks :)

We are waiting on a redone version of the API that's being created for us -- it's fairly complicated and while we thought we would have had it yesterday, it's looking like Tuesday before we'll get it -- as soon as we get it from the techs, Backov will have it up and running, you know he is good like that :)

Kimmykim 02-15-2003 04:43 PM

Oh and did I mention I was a dipshit too???

You can do a manual push on epassporte now to the user account kimmykim and then just let me know via email to [email protected] so I can verify and then we can manually add you into the system with the allocation.

Theo 02-15-2003 04:58 PM

thanks KK

Kimmykim 02-15-2003 06:57 PM

sure thing :)

MonkeyMan 02-17-2003 02:19 AM

Will Epassporte mail you checks, and how much does it cost?

I have been using spotbrokers a few days now and it said you would be paying via paypal. Now all of the sudden "We will be paying by Epassporte, automation of this is coming soon." I reeally dont feel like using Epassporte. I dont want to pay for one of thier credit cards and I don't really want my money in an Epassporte virtual account. Some of us like the cash in hand.

Rich 02-17-2003 02:50 AM

Anyone know if/when epoch will start paying directly to epassport accounts, or do they already?

Kimmykim 02-17-2003 02:51 AM

It's possible that you may get a wire from us, the reality of the situation is that Paypal is very inconvenient for many people, and the benefits of epassporte are so much greater. Too many people are charged to cash checks by their banks, made to wait 10-15 days to get the cash from their checks by their banks to make checks a feasible immediate solution for small amounts.

Email me if you want to go over specifics :)

Not if someone else is loading your account, like a sponsor or someone that is paying you for something.

How do you get an account though? When I try to join with my Visa that I use online regularly, it tells me that "You have entered an invalid credit card number". So far I've been too lazy to call them up and find out what the problem is, since I don't need one badly right now. Is there a way to join with no cc?

Email me your name on the cc you've tried with Rich, if you don't mind, and I will find out what the problem is exactly --

Rich 02-17-2003 03:00 AM

What's your e-mail address? Leave it here please and I'll e-mail you my info tomorrow.

thanks

Petr 02-17-2003 03:02 AM

KK, I'm having the same problem. All my cards are being denied. It looks the scrubbing is as hard as for adult transactions...

Pornwolf 02-17-2003 03:03 AM

Send a couple of signups to the guys at Flash Cash They have been leading the charge on this new payment method. You also get the initial fee for the physical card waived of you want it. 1 or two signups gets you in and setup with money to spend. They are the only sponsor I know of that is totally connected with this Esspassporte thing.

Can't beat that deal. :glugglug

Kimmykim 02-17-2003 03:05 AM

[email protected] is one to use -- just send me the names on the cards that you were using and I'll get with Mallick asap to see what the issue is -- i KNOW the cards aren't being scrubbed like adult transactions, there is no reason whatsoever for that and it defeats the purpose --

jonnax 02-17-2003 06:19 AM

I got rejected also....
Epassporte should do something about the scrubbing..

I admit i used a 14-day eastern european ( http://www.eyp.ee/pages.php3/13010417 )
virtualvisa when i tried to signup but i had no problems with that visa when i bought a couple of domains from godaddy and one paysite (billing company was some exotic called yespayments.com ) testmembership.

So if the cardnumber was good enough for them i think it should be good enough for epassporte also...:Graucho

Pornwolf 02-17-2003 07:08 AM

I got a couple of ICQ's about my post. Let me clarify, yes, Flashcash will totally get the card for you. You don't have to use your credit card at all initially. They get it for you and pay you directly through the Esspassporte account. No worries.

They also pay you instantly through the card so you might never have to load it with money yourself. Pretty cool.

I noticed that flashcash use Electronic groupīs dialer system as a alternative payment method for surfers

Do their affiliates get any comission from that revenue ???

jonnax 02-17-2003 12:30 PM

So i quess they are not paying for dialerminutes then:Graucho
