Any suggestions on international auto shipping?

A guy wants to buy one of my cars and needs it shipped to Switzerland. Anyone have any experience with any international auto shippers? Better pricing or service?

He's a legit buyer and I'm a legit seller, thanks. Do you have any real input or do you just like trolling "legit" threads?

Guarantee the car to the shipper of his choice, ie: port of Jacksonville. Make him responsible from there.

Considered taking it to Jacksonville as it would save some money but in reality it's only $550 to not have to fool with it. As of now quote is $3100 from my drive to Zurich which doesn't seem bad I guess but then again I've never shipped one internationally.

i know there are companies which handle this as full service - shipping, customs, insurance etc

What I was trying to say was guarantee it only until it leaves your sight. From that point the money has cleared, HIS insurance is in place and HIS shipper/agent takes responsibility for the car.

Just got another quote in the mail for $450 which makes it even more reasonable to not fool with considering it would take me 8-9 hours back and fourth.

Yeah I'm just trying to help out on finding a shipper it's his deal $ wise. I personally would rather sell locally but he's the most eager at this point so trying to work with him on it.

I sold one of mine to someone in Germany and it went through port of Jacksonville also. It was a 4 hour drive but not my problem once I left it there. I will try to find the company

My buddy imports cars from US to Eu. Its around 1000$ per car US port to EU port. Than it would be around 300Eur from Eu port to Switzerland. Thats without VAT and customs, just rough shipping cost. If you get 3100$ without customs thats huge price imho.

Well he is not in the business of providing freight forwarding to other people, he just ships cars to himself (he is in car buy and sell for profit business) so no site or anything. I could ask him if he could ship it for you though. If you told me where the car is (or which port you could deliver it to).

Nashville, TN to Zurich. I'm sure he can find a way to make some money off the deal as it seems a lot of these quotes are from brokers. $3100 is the quote he's working with. Have him email me is he's interested.
